Chapter 16
βGasp-, ha- hha-β¦β
Suddenly, a memory resurfaced, and I felt miserable. I wiped my damp face with my sleeve.
Dying from an electric shock while riding an electric bike after overtime. What kind of pathetic and useless death is that?
Amid all of this, Luongi crossed my mind. That poor thing that couldnβt even eat a decent meal without me. And my parents. The two weakest people in the world. Just thinking about how they would live without me made my stomach churn with growing concern.
βI will definitely go back.β
Muttering to myself, I lifted my head. I had to find a way back to reality. It was too unfair to die without giving my senior an a**-whooping. And thinking about the family and Luongi left behind in a world without me, I had no choice but to return.
However, in order to safely escape from here, there was something that had to be dealt with first.
That bastard, Ianβno, Ares Baltazar. I had to somehow make this troublesome so-called ally, who had done nothing but act like a burden, actually play the role of a helpful person.
When I entered the Young Lord’s bedroom to find him, the first thing that caught my eye was his still naked figure, sitting upright as if nothing had changed.
βIan.β
βMy name is Ares Baltazar.β
βIf I call you Ares here, everyone will think weβre both insane. Theyβll probably think weβre a couple of friendly lunatics.β
Fortunately, right now, they think youβre the only crazy one. I didnβt want to be treated like that, too.
βWhat do you need from me?β
His eyes burned with an unyielding spirit. Looking at his gaze, he seemed like a general facing thousands of enemies, but the problem was that his grandiosity was too out of place.
This wasnβt a battlefield of swords and blood. The place he was in was a calm, peaceful Young Lordβs bedroom, but he was still sitting there completely naked.
Yes, I get it. You have a great body. His strong physique and proud attitude might have looked imposing in another context, but in this situation, he just seemed like a crazy exhibitionist pervert.
There were many things that needed fixing, but for now, the first thing to solve was… that nude. I mean, the clothes.
βPlease, just put some clothes on.β
βDonβt command me.β
I took a deep breath and spoke again.
βI said it wasnβt a command, itβs a request. Are you not going to cooperate? Youβre supposed to catch a traitor and head to a comfortable grave. Donβt you want to die?β
ββ¦β¦β
He didnβt respond for a long while even after hearing all my words. He just stared at me intensely.
Fortunately, he wasnβt as hostile as before, but it seemed like there were still complicated feelings tangled up inside him. His tightly shut lips clearly showed his dissatisfaction.
Well, what are you going to do if you donβt like it? What can you do?
I didnβt look away and stared at him, and eventually, Ian reluctantly rose from his seat. Though he was stubborn, it seemed he had realized that for now, accepting my words was the only option he had.
As he got up, his long shadow stretched across the room. His large, muscular frame exuded presence, even without him trying.
Ian took long strides toward the door, and when he opened it, the waiting servant flinched and trembled in surprise.
βGuide me.β
His tone was familiar, firm, and concise, as if it was second nature to him.
The servant, standing by the door, bowed with hands clasped.
βI-Iβll take you this way.β
The servant gestured nervously, guiding him. Ian walked ahead without saying much, confidently striding in the direction the servant pointed, as if he didnβt need to explain that he was the master of this place.
I watched him until he disappeared into the dressing room, and with a soft sigh, I turned and began walking in the opposite direction.
There was something I needed to do as well.
Namely, following through with the academy admission process.
In that process, the Duke of Zenorβs cooperation was crucial. It would be impossible to properly deal with the troublesome Ian without the support of the Dukeβs family.
