Chapter 105
After their conversation, Segleninde took Cynthia around the mansion, which had once been dangerous.
He showed her that the mansion was now truly safe. All traps and puzzles had disappeared, and the gloomy, dark atmosphere inside the mansion seemed much brighter and more lively with sunlight streaming in. It even felt as vibrant as it had before any of the incidents began.
The Harvesters were nowhere to be seen, the Butcher Cook brothers politely welcomed her when she visited the kitchen, and even the Gorgon in the Moon Flower Garden bowed its head while gathering the flesh on its head, behaving meekly.
When Cynthia saw it, she suddenly remembered the precarious situation she’d been in and tried to give it a good smack.
“You’re in trouble now. Do you know how much I suffered because of you! Just let me go for a second, Sellie! I’m going to teach that bastard a lesson! Don’t stop me!”
“I’m not holding you that tightly, though.”
“……”
Later, while Cynthia was recalling what happened in the Moon Flower Garden, she remembered the moment when the fox mask’s time ran out and then suddenly stopped.
She told him about it, half-expecting the answer that came back.
“Oh, that. I did something about it. Since I’d lost part of my control over the creatures when I lost my memories, I had no other way.”
As expected, he was the one who had stopped the item’s time.
Of course, it was also him who had killed all the creatures in the Spring Flower Garden and found the hints in advance, and who had destroyed all the traps in the secret passageway on the first floor after she fell asleep and was transported there.
Just as Cynthia was about to thank him, her eyes narrowed. She recalled that he had the ability to interfere with the system.
If that was the case, didn’t it mean the d***o quest she experienced in the final room of the secret passage, and the white tentacles that rubbed her nether regions before leaving the Spring Flower Garden, were all his doing as well?
Come to think of it, those white tentacles were the same as the ones Segleninde used to grab her just before she escaped.
“…The tentacles. That was you, wasn’t it?”
“Of course it was me.”
“How can you say that so proudly. You pervert! You creep!”
Segleninde obediently let Cynthia’s punches land on him.
He said it just felt like being hit by a bundle of fluffy cotton, and she, overwhelmed, hit him even harder. He smiled with satisfaction and said next time, he would get permission just as she had taught him, soothing her in the process.
Then, holding the hand of his indignant woman, he blew gently on her now-reddened, delicate cotton-fist from where it had repeatedly struck his firm body. He was careful, lest the fluff fly away if he did it wrong. Of course, right after, a shocked Cynthia swatted his palm with her lips.
Besides that, countless creatures bowed their heads or greeted Cynthia politely as if truly treating her as the lady of the house. The ghost mice rolled over to show their bellies and performed tricks of their own accord, and every butler and maid, disguised with human faces, smiled brightly as they welcomed her.
When they reached the Fourth Floor’s Sky Garden, Segleninde’s clones, in black masks and uniforms, greeted them. Instead of standing like statues or rushing at Cynthia, they knelt in deference and waited.
Thanks to this, Cynthia was able to stroll at a leisurely pace through the beautiful Sky Garden with Segleninde, lost in a sense of wonder. The mansion’s creatures, which had so long threatened her life, were now no longer dangerous, and even that terrifying mastermind had come to love her.
On top of that, to think that this place could now feel so safe. She had never imagined it.
“Miss!”
A familiar voice rang out.
Remembering someone she had almost forgotten in the midst of all this confusion, Cynthia hurriedly turned around. There, running toward her with her short black hair flying, was the maid, Melissa.
“Melissa!”
