Chapter 111
That day, Segleninde held Cynthia’s hand for almost the entire day.
Whether they were walking, sitting, hugging, or even when he was feeding her during dinner, he never let go of her hand.
The servants, with Melissa at the forefront, looked on contentedly, but Cynthia, thinking this was getting a bit excessive, eventually declared a breakup with his hand so he wouldn’t go overboard.
Segleninde looked extremely disappointed and kept tapping her fingertips, but when Cynthia coldly pulled her hand away, he only grumbled briefly before cutting her food into small pieces and feeding it to her. Still, when she said she would hold his hand again next time, his face brightened.
‘Is he easy to read, or hard to read?’
Even after dinner, Cynthia was still sitting on Segleninde’s thigh, watching the ghost mice, now adorned with ribbons on their heads, perform tricks in a group. As she munched on the grapes he popped into her mouth one by one, Segleninde casually asked,
“It seems you’ve gotten used to living in my manor, more or less?”
“Yeah, probably?”
After a few days here, it was almost too nice, and that was the problem. Even though all the servants were creatures, they all behaved as if they were human, and the creatures who didn’t have human forms were cute enough, now that she knew they weren’t a threat.
Moreover, the contrast between the luxurious life of a duchess and the utter poverty at the count’s estate was so stark. Here, she didn’t have to serve or be yelled at. She didn’t have to starve under forced dieting when she was already skinny.
So, as long as this life continued, she wanted to stay here.
Instead of expressing all these feelings, Cynthia picked up the last grape left in the bowl and popped it into Segleninde’s mouth herself.
After eating it, Segleninde hesitated for a moment before speaking.
“Well, I think it’s about time you gave me what you promised.”
“…Ah.”
Segleninde lightly licked the tips of his fingers that had touched her lips, then their eyes met.
Cynthia knew exactly what he meant. Instead of killing people to take their life force, he was to receive it from her. Over the last few days, there hadn’t been any such moments under the pretext of giving her time to get used to life in the duchy.
Sometimes, he would crawl into her dress, pull down her underwear, and suck her fluids while saying he was thirsty, but anyway, they hadn’t had s*x.
“Well, sure. Why not.”
And honestly, since all he ever did was lick her and drink her fluids without going further, Cynthia herself was starting to get a bit impatient. She could feel a persistent heat building up in her lower belly and pressed her thighs together.
Watching her like that, Segleninde smiled, then suddenly asked,
“…Come to think of it, what kind of dream did you have on your first night here?”
“Huh?”
He sounded somewhat expectant.
He wasn’t wrong. Segleninde had certainly appeared in her dream, but the problem was that it had been an embarrassingly obscene dream. How could she possibly say it… that she’d been tormented and humiliated in all kinds of ways by his tentacles?
And, as time went by, looking back, it was so e****c that, even though it wasn’t real, she sometimes remembered it and smiled to herself.
So when Cynthia only rolled her eyes and pressed her lips shut, saying nothing, Segleninde watched her quietly and then laughed softly.
“I didn’t realize my fiancée’s mind was this lewd.”
“You— You read my mind?”
“Just this once.”
In any case, he had read it. Cynthia, shocked, tried to leap off his lap, but he quickly wrapped both arms around her waist, as if afraid she might get hurt. Of course, Cynthia wouldn’t get hurt from just that, but Segleninde had recently developed a tendency to treat her like a little yellow chick.
As she struggled and told him to let her go, he just held her tighter and, with a flushed face, asked,
“Do you really want to try it? Like in your dream?”
Cynthia was about to shout, “Are you crazy?!” and hit his shoulder, but she stopped.
Segleninde, hugging her from behind, buried his head in her shoulder and kissed the nape of her neck. And when their eyes met, he brushed her hair aside with his chin and smiled with his eyes. Maybe because of that seductive face, Cynthia reconsidered.
As long as she wasn’t actually in danger, maybe it would be fine?
“…If you promise to stop when I say stop, and you won’t hurt me, or scare me.”
“I promise.”
Segleninde whispered with a distinctly excited voice, then kissed her cheek.
“Then, it’s decided. Sia.”
And in the next moment, Cynthia fell into darkness.
