Chapter 145
Segleninde’s memories were set to be restored sequentially upon reaching certain points. This was a precaution he’d prepared in case he put Cynthia in danger by his own hand along the way.
The first memory he recovered was that Cynthia could be revived even if she died, and that, at least within this mansion, no matter how much time was reversed, he would remain unaffected.
Crack.
Before Cynthia could come back to life, Segleninde went and found the crossbow-wielding statue that had dared to kill her, and destroyed it with his sword. After checking the statue, which was split in half and oozing black blood, with cold eyes, he returned to the sword-wielding statue.
He worried that Cynthia might have lingering injuries when she revived, but fortunately she was unscathed. Though, she did bite her tongue, which startled him.
The second memory returned at this moment:
“Help me, please. Please…”
“….”
“It’s tingly down here. Hurry, make it stop…”
When Cynthia, dazed from a weak aphrodisiac, spread her legs wide in front of him.
Recalling the time he had watched kidnapped humans copulating, Segleninde helped her. For the first time, instead of tearing into human flesh, bones, and blood, he gently coaxed out honey from within her body, drawing shivering moans from her.
He also remembered that he could exert a tremendous influence over everything within the mansion, that he could read others’ thoughts in detail if he wished, and that, because he had lost his memories, he was currently missing part of his control. But none of that mattered.
All of his attention was focused solely on bringing Cynthia to climax with his own hands, drinking up the sweet nectar she secreted. Cynthia, clutching at him with a flushed face he’d never seen before, was so lovely and pleasing it drove him mad.
He wanted to hold her. To embrace her tightly and drink in the sweetness she released until he was filled to his core. He wanted to devour her completely as she reached out to him with trembling arms and a dazed expression under his hands and lips.
It was then he realized that this was pleasure.
That this was s****l desire.
From that moment, Segleninde wanted to know Cynthia even more. He didn’t want to leave her side. He wanted to know everything about her and grant her every wish.
Though he was not human, what more a being who had lived by killing humans, he ached to comfort the weeping, silent human. For the first time, he regretted not being human.
Why, because he was not human, could he not fully comfort her?
Why, because he was not human, could he not give her everything she desired?
Even though the ‘Primordial Monarch’ who had been rooted in this world for so long finally became a harmless presence at her side after losing his memories, he now found himself tormented by a newly blossoming, feverish thirst.
He wanted Cynthia.
He wanted to be loved by Cynthia.
That feeling was, after erasing his own memories, the clearest desire he had ever truly realized.
* * *
The reason he sent the sleeping Cynthia through a secret passage was simple. He wanted to make her feel good because she had been feeling down before falling asleep. Humans find joy in physical pleasure, and Cynthia was no different.
Segleninde had entered the passage first. It was still filled with traps he had created long ago to kill victims, so he destroyed them all.
When a quest he had pre-set for her enjoyment appeared to Cynthia, he hid himself so she would not see him. In truth, instead of having fun, she broke down in tears, but it still led to a rather good result.
Cynthia promised not to disappear from his side.
“Fine, I won’t disappear! Satisfied? So you better stop cursing at me or saying you’ll kill me. Otherwise, I’ll lose interest and seriously call off this engagement.”
Although he became visibly anxious at the idea of her calling off the engagement, he promised not to say harsh things or put her in danger anymore, and she was happy.
When Cynthia was happy, he was happy. Even though she called him a pervert in her heart, he didn’t care.
He had always had the desire to protect her so she wouldn’t die, and he was already planning to fix his bad way of speaking, so it was an easy promise. After receiving a kiss on the cheek from her, his mood soared to its peak.
It felt as if he had achieved the single purpose of his entire existence, one that would last for eternity.
He was pleased to see her blushing even though she had been the one to kiss him first. He wanted to see that face forever. Segleninde sincerely hoped that such a future could come true.
