Segleninde’s location was still unknown.
Cynthia suddenly felt deflated. Was he really still stuck in some trap, floundering around? His precious fiancée had just fought for her life, but wherever he was, he seemed to be taking his sweet time, no matter what trap he was caught in.
‘…Is he waiting for me to call him or something?’
But even if she wanted to call him, she didn’t know where he was, and there was no way to reach him. Cynthia was completely drained from what had just happened. At least, after escaping the Gorgon’s domain, she was able to move forward more easily.
She used rat bait to tame the Ghost Rats roaming the garden, then sent them after the other creatures lurking in Moon Flower Garden: the Poison Spiders. Since Ghost Rats were natural enemies of the spiders, they devoured every spider they came across.
Thanks to that, she quickly reached the center of the Moon Flower Garden.
“Phew…”
There, a gigantic flower stood quietly.
As Cynthia approached the large, black bud with its petals tightly closed, a message appeared.
Bloom the Full Moon Flower Reward: Special Event!
It was a quest. A description of the flower followed.
Do you wish to offer the most fragrant water? [ Yes ] / [ No ]
“……”
If you chose ‘Yes’ here, all the blood in your body would be sucked dry.
Even if that didn’t happen, now that the game had shifted to an eroge, who knew what else might get sucked out. Cynthia chose [ No ]. There was another way to get the ‘most fragrant water’ to give to the flower.
She didn’t know what the special event would be, but so far, all the quest rewards she’d received had been helpful to her. Trusting that, at least, she left the spot and headed for a dazzling flower garden in one corner of the otherwise black and red-filled garden.
There bloomed yellow flowers, pink flowers, white flowers, blue flowers, green flowers, and purple flowers.
And she heard the flowers whispering.
<The flower in the center bloomed prettier than me. I hate it!>
<I agree with what the flower on the far right said!>
<I wish the flower to my left would just die!>
<What the flower above me said is true!>
<The flower on the far left has sweet nectar!>
<The flower to my right is lying!>
Hints kept coming. Originally, this event played out in a much more complicated way, and in the game, every time you came to this map, the ‘most envied flower’ was different. But it seemed the update had made it much simpler.
Quickly figuring out which flower was being indicated in the hints, Cynthia reached out and picked the white flower. The moment she snapped it, an ear-splitting scream rang out.
<AAAAAAGH!>
Blood trickled from the snapped stem of the flower.
With a grim expression, Cynthia turned the flower upside down to prevent the dripping blood from falling on her, and walked away. Behind her, the other flowers let out bizarre peals of laughter in unison.
“This place really sucks, every time I come here.”
Carrying the flower dripping with blood, Cynthia returned to the giant flower and poured the blood from the white flower’s stem at the base of its roots.
When a fair amount of thick, red blood had been poured out, the black flower finally bloomed wide open. The black petals fell away, and at its heart was a perfectly round flower glowing as brilliantly as a full moon.
Reward will be granted!
The flower that had bloomed like a full moon emitted a mysterious light.
