It was confusing. Aiden couldn’t figure out why everything had turned out this way.

‘I just wanted to be equal to Novnie. What’s wrong with that?’

Having spent the last five years interacting only with Novnie, Aiden’s sense of right and wrong had blurred. With no one to correct him, this outcome was inevitable.

Meanwhile, another handful of Novnie’s waist disappeared. Aiden felt his heart race.

“Novnie, wait a minute. There seems to be some misunderstanding. I didn’t know this was the vessel for your soul. I thought it was… the source of power!”

Aiden rushed toward her, but after a few steps, his legs froze in place.

“Ah…”

Novnie was disappearing. The more Aiden approached, the faster and more intensely she vanished. He couldn’t get closer. He shouldn’t. If he wanted to see Novnie even a little longer, even in the slightest state of being.

“Ah, ah…”

Aiden’s knees buckled.

He had only wanted to stand beside Novnie, but his wish had turned him into something that erased her. Now, Aiden was a being who could never be equal to, nor be with, Novnie. He finally understood her words.

‘It was like Novnie’s body.’

The other name for divine essence is the body. And the body is also the vessel for the soul. We call this vessel the physical body.

‘Novnie was… a god.’

Gods are typically formless, but Novnie created a body to exist in form, to contain herself.

In other words, the divine essence was the physical body.

Only then did Aiden realize what he had done.

“Ah… Aaaah!”

He collapsed, screaming. Novnie wasn’t disappearing. She was simply dispersing as she was supposed to. Having lost her body, she was returning to nature in a state of soul. This was the true meaning of the divine object, the orb, in which Novnie had rested.

Aiden had killed her. Aiden had killed Novnie’s body.

The method Aiden had thought would turn him into a god was no different from killing Novnie and sending her soul back to nature.

Aiden had killed Novnie!

So, it was fitting to call Aiden chaos.

Because he had brought death to this paradise with no death. He had caused death. He had created confusion.

It was too late to regret.

“Novnie! Novnie! Ah! What have I done? What should I do? Novnie!”

Aiden threw his head back and screamed as if roaring. The tendons in his hand, gripping his hair, tensed. His wide-open eyes wavered hazily. His cry tore through the fading abode of spring, which was slipping away into the distance.

The abode of spring, which tore apart like thin paper or fabric, was being swiftly consumed by the dark winter-like presence creeping through the cracks. In this moment, despair was a luxury.

‘Calm down, calm down. I need to calm down.’

If he wanted to hold on to the abode of spring a little longer, to keep Novnie, now returning to her soul form, even a little longer, Aiden needed to calm himself.

His shoulders trembled, and despite trying to reassure himself by hugging his own shoulders, it was not as easy as it sounded. His heart pounded wildly, and his tears flowed uncontrollably like a broken faucet, as though they had already surpassed his will.

‘I need to think.’

He forced himself to think with his mind that wouldn’t cooperate. If only he could hit his brain hard enough to spit out the answer.

‘How can I keep Novnie here?’

He couldn’t let her disperse like this. Could he still call Novnie ‘Novnie’ if she had lost her form? How could he find Novnie now that she was returning to nature? The fact that all things are Novnie meant that nothing else could be Novnie for him.

‘If I lose Novnie now… does that mean I’ll never have Novnie again?’

Even in this moment, Aiden stayed true to his desires. Even amidst the rough despair, he tried to tap into his power. He could feel immense power flowing through his body.

‘Ah, this is the power of a god.’

The pink orb had accumulated power over countless ages since its creation. All of that accumulated power was now absorbed into Aiden’s body. Though artificial, it meant he had indeed become a god.

‘The power of God who created the world flows through me now.’

With this power, nothing in this world was impossible. The thought brought Aiden a sense of stability.

At that moment, the abode of spring collapsed completely, and Aiden quickly conjured a defensive magic barrier around himself. While he couldn’t trap Novnie’s soul, that was now oxidizing in the air, he could teleport to where Novnie still remained.

“What are you trying to do…?”

Novnie’s arm bent. Specifically, her wrist, which had been supporting her on the ground, vanished, causing her to collapse.

“Ugh.”

Having collided with the floor, Novnie turned to face Aiden. There was a shimmering aura, full and overflowing, that emanated from her.

Aiden now possessed not only her form and essence but also the power she had accumulated. In this situation, the strength she had as she returned to nature could no longer have any meaningful effect on him.

Aiden looked at her, crying and laughing at the same time.
