Feelings of injustice only arose when there was something to expect.

I had never expected anything from him or from Baldomer in the first place.

I was simply enduring.

Until the moment I could meet Denion.

Because, if Kallion cast me out, even that opportunity would disappear.

For a short while, I had tried to clear my name.

But it had been pointless.

There was nothing I could do in Baldomer.

I also knew very well that no matter how much people cursed me, he wouldn’t annul the marriage without definitive proof.

He would simply despise and hate me even more.

So I silently accepted the situation.

Because what he thought of me didn’t matter.

All I could do was resolve not to do something as foolish as crying the next time we were supposed to sleep together.

At the sight of me standing silent like a doll, Kallion roughly dragged a hand down his face.

He breathed heavily as though trying to suppress his anger before speaking through clenched teeth.

“Do you know that the man you call your lover named you as the culprit?”

It was what he had said in the bedroom.

Layla had also mentioned it again.

I didn’t think Lloyd was the kind of man who would do that.

But even if he had said such a thing, it changed nothing.

Lloyd had never been part of my plans in the first place.

Whatever he said wasn’t particularly important to me.

“Are you listening? The man you keep defending lied.”

“So?”

“What?”

“Even if Lloyd had told you the truth, would you have believed me?”

Kallion closed his mouth as though he had nothing to say.

Even if everyone had told you I wasn’t the culprit, you still wouldn’t have believed it.

Unless you confirmed it yourself, out of everyone in the world, you would have suspected me the most.

“Don’t you understand? The important thing isn’t what Lloyd or I say.”

It’s what you think.

Leaving those final words unsaid, I briskly walked out of the room.

Contrary to my calm and composed expression, something inside me churned strangely.

After the meeting with the heads of the vassal houses, the days passed in a blur as Kallion dealt with the leaked mine auction information.

Even though they had identified the culprit who leaked the confidential information, none of the problems surrounding the diamond mine had actually been resolved.

The auction price, which originally would have ended at a few billion gold, had skyrocketed.

Kallion remained in his office until late at night reviewing the countermeasures sent by each head of house.

Eventually, he pressed a hand to his throbbing forehead and sighed.

‘Don’t you understand? The important thing isn’t what Lloyd or I say.’

The words she had left him with the last time they met continued circling in his head.

Still pressing his throbbing forehead, he opened the window, then walked over to the sofa with a tired expression and sat down.

He hadn’t slept properly for several days.

Thinking he would rest his eyes for a moment, Kallion closed his heavy eyelids.

He fell asleep almost immediately.

“Kallion…”

At the sound of someone calling him, Kallion slowly opened his eyes.

Juliana was before him, looking up at him lovingly.

Startled, he glanced around and found that the office had somehow become a bedroom.

He was pinning Juliana beneath him on the bed.

‘What is this? A dream…?’

He remained frozen in confusion for only a moment before Juliana reached up and gently stroked his cheek.

At the vivid sensation, Kallion’s pupils trembled helplessly as he stared at her.

“Kallion, I love you.”

She smiled at him with an indescribably loving expression.

Her slightly parted lips and flushed face, as though lost in pleasure, were completely different from the Juliana he knew.

Only belatedly did he realize that the two of them were already joined together.

His body was driving into hers desperately.

The movements were frantic and blind, as though she were the only thing he could see.

Even though his body moved against his will, every sensation remained vividly real.

The feeling deep inside her, where he had been unable to enter on their first night.

And the maddening tightness around him that nearly stole his breath.

As though making up for the frustration of that night, when her tears had kept him from acting on his desire, he thrust into her wildly.

The sensation of her tightening around him, urging him to go deeper, made every cell in his body feel as though it were exploding with pleasure.

With every movement, Juliana let out breathless moans and clung to him.

“I love you, Kallion…”
