Chapter 31
“Back then.”
Eden had been thinking for a long time, only opening her mouth after they arrived in front of the house. Her hazy voice echoed between the sounds of footsteps climbing the stairs.
“I mean, right when I first got cursed, I used to pray that I could sleep for just one day without feeling pain.”
On the day she lost her family, Eden abandoned her love for God. But ironically, when the curse began to gnaw at her, she found herself seeking God again. She prayed every night.
Please free me from this terrible pain.
“So did God answer that prayer?”
“Of course not. He completely ignored me.”
But God never once responded to her. After several months like that, Eden threw away even the last shred of affection she had for God.
“…That’s a sad story.”
Despite his quiet voice, Bezel couldn’t hide his smile. It was lucky that Eden was on his back. He could hide this duplicitous expression.
God is distant and evil is near. This was why many humans betrayed the state religion and became demon worshippers.
“In the early days of my Hunter work, I met a demon worshipper. He told me to stop resisting and submit to the demon who cursed me. That only he could lift the curse, so swear loyalty and be saved.”
“And what did you say to that?”
“What was there to say? I told him to f**k off and gave him the finger.”
Eden released the hand looped around his neck and waved it with only her middle finger extended.
“Hmm. That’s a good approach, but why? God ignored all of Eden’s prayers anyway. You might as well have begged that demon for your life.”
If Eden had been sober, she would have bristled at some of the words in there, but drunk Eden didn’t notice anything strange at all.
“How could I beg my parents’ killer to save me? I’d rather just die. No, no. I can’t die like this. If I’m going to die anyway, I have to make that bastard suffer just as much as my mom and dad did, and then… then I’ll die.”
By then, they had climbed all the stairs and were now in front of the entrance. Eden rummaged through her pocket to find her house key and handed it over.
“Use that to open the door and just keep it. You’ll need a key if you’re going to keep living in this house anyway.”
“What about Eden?”
“That’s just a spare key anyway. I have another one. Hehe.”
Eden giggled, finding something amusing about it.
She’s completely wasted. Bezel thought this as he opened the door and went in, setting her down on the sofa.
“Do it.”
Eden grabbed the hem of his clothes as he tried to get up and turn around.
“…Do what?”
Bezel feigned ignorance, masking the thrill that shot through him. Eden, leaning against the backrest, tugged him toward her.
“Kiss me.”
Ah. Now he understood why humans drink at night when they’re becoming intimate. Drunk Eden seemed to have forgotten all shame and filled that space with sheer boldness instead, making her completely uninhibited.
“I told you to ask for help. Shouldn’t you be a bit more polite?”
Then he should play along accordingly. Even with his tone clearly different from usual, Eden was obedient.
“Please help…”
Before she could finish speaking, their lips met. Bezel bent one knee onto the sofa, gripping her chin to tilt it upward. He pressed her precariously tilted head back against the backrest and shoved his tongue inside.
“Mmph.”
Startled by the sudden development, Eden grabbed his arm. As soon as she did, Bezel twisted her chin in the opposite direction. As the angle changed, his thick tongue invaded deeper. The man’s tongue was broad and thick. The large piece of flesh that filled her mouth entered her narrow throat.
“Haa, ahk.“
She had been the one to ask, but she had never imagined he would be this aggressive. Whether it was because she was drunk or because the act was too intense, her mind went completely blank.
Bezel repeatedly withdrew and pushed in his tongue, thrusting rapidly. It felt like a c**k was being shoved into her mouth rather than a tongue. The merciless stabbing at her throat made her gag and brought tears to her eyes.
“Mmph, mmh.“
When Eden gagged, the flesh that had been wedged deep inside pulled out.
“Cough, cough!“
As soon as their lips separated, Eden burst into coughing. But before her coughing completely settled, their lips met again.
