Chapter 57
Chapter 57
Her mouth was ravaged. His tongue, thickly coating her sensitive inner lining, tangled with hers. With every lick and suck, a thrilling, arousing sensation bloomed. Their tart saliva mingled, creating lewd sounds as it slid down her throat. The sour taste transformed into something sweet and tangy.
… Sweet.
Just as she registered the sweetness, like juice bursting in her mouth, Hilde’s head spun.
Her strength ebbed away, her body going limp in Benedict’s easy embrace.
“You lasted a long time.” Benedict glanced at the window, now shrouded in darkness, then looked down at Hilde’s sleeping face.
“The d**g should have taken effect long ago.” He was quite surprised she had remained coherent for so long. She must have been fighting it with sheer willpower.
“It was… different, Rabbit.” He laid her down on the bed and gently pressed his thumb against her swollen lips. It was the first time he had tasted a woman’s lips while she was awake. He’d expected unnecessary movements and reactions to be a hindrance, but it wasn’t so bad.
No, it was rather…arousing. Her flushed cheeks, the sweet sounds of her moans, her writhing body—everything about her pleased him.
“So be prepared,” Benedict whispered, retying the loosely knotted ribbon at her throat. “Because I like you.”

That night, Hilde dreamt of Sasha.
It had been so long, and even knowing it was a dream, she was happy.
Just like when they were young, they held hands and went to a meadow, weaving clover into pretty bracelets. Hilde tied one onto her sister’s wrist.
Sasha beamed. Hilde loved her bright smile so much that she smiled too.
She didn’t want to wake up. If her sister would only let her, she wanted to stay here forever. She didn’t want to return to a world where no one wanted her, a world that only brought her pain.
Actually, Sasha… I pray every day.
That I won’t wake up in the morning.
That I’ll just… sleep forever, like I’m dead.
But contrary to her wishes, Sasha spoke, as if reminding her of reality.
Sister, it’s time to go.
As soon as she heard those words, countless pains assaulted her at once.
Her heart ached, and her body ached. Her shoulders, arms, legs, neck—there wasn’t a single part of her that didn’t hurt.
Her entire body throbbed as if she had been stabbed, cut, and beaten. It felt like she had swallowed a ball of fire.
I don’t want to go, Sasha.
I hurt so much.
Hilde whimpered, showing her bloodied body to her sister.
Look at me, Sasha. They did this to me. If I go back, I’ll just experience the same pain again.
Then, a strange thought crossed her mind.
But why is my body like this…?
How did I get so badly hurt?
Hilde groped for the memories that were obscured, painted black. As she did, her sister urged her on.
We have to go. There’s no time.
Wait, Sasha, I’ll remember soon. So…
You still have a long life ahead of you, Sister. ‘That person’ won’t give up on you.
That person?
Hilde’s head snapped up at the unfamiliar words.
Something was flickering at the edge of her memory, just out of reach. But every time she was close to grasping it, something blocked her.
Sasha—
Suddenly, a blinding light erupted.
Sensing the inevitable parting, Hilde burst into tears. But her unfeeling sister only smiled and waved.
Hilde’s body was enveloped in a warm, golden light.
And when she woke up again, she remembered nothing.
Early in the morning, Greta came to see her.
“His Grace has granted you permission to walk in the inner gardens starting today.”
Hilde’s eyes widened.
“However, it must be at a designated time, and you cannot go alone. I will send someone once a day.”
As Hilde stared, dumbfounded, Greta handed her a small pouch. It was so light it felt almost weightless. She fiddled with it, and a soft rustling sound emerged.
“What is this…?”
Instead of answering, Greta gazed intently at her lips. Feeling her gaze, Hilde lowered her head, self-conscious. His attentions the previous day had left her lips noticeably swollen.
Embarrassed, she fidgeted with the string of the pouch. Then came Greta’s simple reply.
