Chapter 29
❖ ❖ ❖
Eki woke when the pale sky began to brighten, the sun slowly peeking over the horizon. She rubbed her drowsy face and realized she wasn’t slumped over the desk but lying somewhere else.
Startled, Eki lifted her head… only to be met with the sight of Cassius, who lay completely still, eyes shut, his chest rising and falling with soft breaths.
‘Omg.’
She was lying on the floor, her head resting on Cassius’s thigh.
‘W-What…’
What kind of event was this now? Was this the power of the ultra-strong luck potion?
To make it worse, Cassius had taken off his long outer robe, wearing only a sleeveless turtleneck shirt and black pants. Without the robe to hide his muscular arms, Eki had nowhere to look and hastily covered her face with both hands.
‘What… happened? This isn’t the kind of thing he would do.’
Feeling around beneath her, she realized she was lying on top of Cassius’s robe.
Now she understood even less. Why was he being so considerate? Even back when she’d had a boyfriend, she’d never been given a lap pillow.
With a sheepish blush spreading across her cheeks, she quickly tried to sit up, only to realize that, at this unfair angle, Cassius’s face remained flawless, without an ounce of disgrace.
‘Whoa…’
As expected of her master. Perhaps he wasn’t just an ordinary dragon but the very Dragon God of Beauty.
‘If I start a religion, I bet people would flock to worship him.’
Bow down. Worship the God of Beauty, Cassius. O, Cassius.
“……”
Eki shook off her ridiculous thoughts and carefully got up. Cassius furrowed his sculpted brows slightly, letting out a faint hum. She minimized her movements and finally managed to settle beside him.
‘Come to think of it, this is the first time I’ve seen him asleep.’
So even dragons needed sleep. He must have been exhausted.
‘No wonder, he hasn’t had a proper rest lately.’
And she herself had only meant to nap for thirty minutes, yet here she was, having slept soundly until sunrise. How frustrating it must have been for Cassius.
‘I’ll apologize when he wakes up.’
She rolled her stiff shoulders with a sigh. Even though her master had given up his robe to make her a bed, a stone floor was still a stone floor. She might still be young, but now in her mid-twenties, her body groaned with the beginnings of age.
While loosening her stiff back, she suddenly faltered from a sharp pang and tilted sideways.
She tried to brace herself on the floor, but unfortunately, the luck potion chose that moment to work its magic.
“Gah!”
“Ugh?!”
Eki tumbled back onto Cassius’s thigh. This time, though, she hadn’t just rested her head—
Her face landed against him.
“E-Eki?”
Startled from his sleep, Cassius twitched and looked down, only to find Eki rubbing her cheek against his crotch. His pupils slit vertically and contracted sharply.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t do it on purpose, I slipped—”
“Ghhk, wait—”
She grabbed Cassius’s thigh to push herself up, but his strained groan made her jerk her hand back. In her haste, her forehead smacked right into the space between his legs again, forcing Cassius to clap a hand over his mouth.
Eki’s small, delicate lips were crushed against his g***n. Unable to endure any longer, Cassius’s neck strained with veins as he barked at her.
“Get off me!”
“Y-Yes!”
She scrambled upright, rubbing her face where she’d felt the firm pressure of his manhood against her cheek.
“Uhmm…”
This was… a situation she should be embarrassed about, right? This had to be the luck potion’s doing, right?
Eki’s cheeks flushed a furious red as she glanced up at her master. But Cassius was frozen stiff, bent over slightly.
“…Master?”
Sensing something was wrong, she called softly. Cassius jerked as if struck by lightning and stumbled back. He snatched up the robe she’d been lying on, clutching it over his g***n.
“W-Wait…!”
Naturally, Eki toppled backward, and just as naturally, her skirt flipped up over her knees.
“……!”
Déjà vu.
Last time, at least they’d been seated on opposite sofas, so there had been some distance.
But this time, Cassius was right in front of her, and the sight of her wide-open thighs and pale underwear struck his vision like a blow.
“Ugh.”
Eki winced and rubbed the back of her head after knocking it on the stone floor. She belatedly realized her skirt had flipped up and hurried to fix it, then frantically checked Cassius’s face.
His flushed complexion—cheeks, forehead, even the nape of his neck—was glowing red as he stared at her still-uncovered pale knees.
Eki barely managed to speak.
“M-Master… please don’t look.”
Her voice, unusually soft and timid, snapped Cassius back to his senses. He jumped to his feet, strode quickly to the door, and grabbed the doorknob with a trembling hand.
“…I’m sorry.”
Then he fled.
