As the emperor approached and extended his large hand, Elena tightly closed her eyes and trembled.
‘She really is a timid rabbit. Well, I prefer it this way.’
Lucael gently placed his hand on her cheek so as not to startle the cute, frightened rabbit.
“Y-Your Majesty.”
“You are truly lovely. May I call you Elena?”
“Yes.”
“Haha. Thank you. Then, Elena, you may call me Luca or Lu.”
“H-How could I! The Emperor’s name!”
Elena tensed her body as she spoke and tightly clasped both hands. Then, seeing the emperor’s expression turn strange again, she bowed her head deeply and apologized.
“Elena, why are you apologizing to me?”
“I-I… just. I’m sorry.”

Feeling the tremendous weight in that gentle voice, Elena nodded her head vigorously while keeping her gaze on the floor.
“Elena. I want to see your red eyes, which shine brighter than beautiful jewels.”
Elena’s face was flushed as she faced the wolf emperor, who made her heart flutter with his word,s asking her to raise her head.
“I hope you won’t fear me or feel uncomfortable around me. Of course, I’ll do my best so you won’t be frightened of me. Oh my, I’ve kept a tired person for too long. I’ll come to escort you at mealtime. Rest well.”
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
“Not at all. Well then.”
The wolf emperor gently embraced Elena’s shoulders, placed a light kiss on her forehead, and left the room.

Rihan approached Lucael, who showed his disinterest through his expression, and carefully broached the subject.
