Of course, others called this bold and eccentric side her charm, but because a disaster always struck after she laughed like that, Melos couldn’t help but stiffen his body.

“Melos, find people worth investing in for a new business. Ideally, people with the guts to invest boldly.”

“Y-you’re starting a new business already? Waiting for Viscount Serman to be caught is also….”

“The possibility of him fleeing abroad is high, so it’ll take a good year to catch him. I can’t just sit around sucking my thumbs until then, can I?”

“That’s true, but….”

Asha also wanted to catch that dog-like Gale Serman and make him vomit up every bit of the embezzled money. No, if she had it her way, she wanted to pack a gun and chase him down herself right now.

But Asha’s situation was too urgent to spend her time anxiously waiting for him to be caught with her entire fortune at stake.

Think about it. If it took a year to catch Gale Serman, it meant a year of looking only at Harriet’s crotch while being toyed with by him.

“Absolutely not.”

As if the mere imagination brought on a chill, Asha rubbed the back of her neck and shuddered. Melos’s eyes darted around, seemingly uneasy about the fact that she was starting a new business.

“Then… what kind of business are you planning to do?”

“I have to find it now.”

“Whaaat—?”

Melos, who had been asking in a grumbling yet curious tone, let out a scream of horror at her words.

“Didn’t you always say that business items flash like lightning?”

“Since I failed seventeen times with that method, I’m going to look thoroughly this time. Melos, I’m planning to squeeze you dry. Now, bring in the businessmen!”

“M-my lady?”

At her bold signal, Melos’s face turned beyond pale; he slumped his massive frame and made it very obvious how much he didn’t want to do it. When Asha acted as if she didn’t even hear that signal, he finally protested overtly.

“We’ve only just settled the business affairs, and instead of a vacation, it’s a new business. Aren’t you being too harsh on your subordinate?”

“Melos.”

Her white teeth gleamed beside her upturned lips. It was a smile bright enough to be called cheerful, but Melos’s face only grew paler. Along with his large body shrinking pitifully, Asha mimicked a sweet voice through her gritted teeth.

“I told you repeatedly not to set that damn safe code to 0000, but someone used it quite effectively for a year and a half. Thanks to that, didn’t Gale Serman rob the safe even with his eyes closed?”

“Madam, what documents should I prepare first?”

Knowing his sin all too well, Melos straightened his large body. Then, he puffed out his chest as if telling her to trust only this body.

“Profiles of the businessmen? Or new business information? Just say the word, Madam.”

Boasting about large muscles as a subordinate didn’t inspire much confidence, but Asha didn’t bother to point that out. Instead, she smiled brightly as if she really liked his highly disciplined appearance.

“The businessmen’s documents first.”

They say the most effective treatment in the world is financial treatment—no, lawsuit treatment, right?

Perhaps quite afraid that Asha would sue him for professional negligence, Melos placed new documents before Asha every time she requested them thereafter. They were documents with the most delicate and neat content since he had been hired.

Thanks to the assistant working with such zeal, business plans and investment requests from various small-scale entrepreneurs soon piled up like a mountain on her desk. Most of them were things sent to Asha on the side, hoping for crumbs while submitting business requests to Harriet.

Of course, the ulterior motive was detestable, but thanks to that, she was able to look over businesses that were of a high standard.

There was nothing that could stop Asha once she caught fire, and from then on, she practically lived in her office. She often fell asleep at her office desk holding a business application, and because she kept skimping on meals, the head maid even came by to nag her.

However, she was a debtor of fifty million Rublangs and bound by an unfair contract, so she had no time to listen to their words.

Before she knew it, the business plans Asha had scanned exceeded eight hundred, and she had actually conducted interviews with thirty-eight businessmen. There were several quite decent businessmen, and among them, there were certainly businesses that piqued her interest.

But what was this intuition? Because there was nothing that ‘hit’ her, the process of looking for a new business remained stagnant. When the business plans reached a thousand and the supply of plans to scrape up had run dry, Melos finally exploded with frustration.

“Exactly what part do you not like, Madam? Hmm?”

Having been overworked by Asha for several days, his massive frame almost looked haggard. However, to appeal with Melos’s state, Asha’s state was just as bad.

While her beautiful appearance was still undeniable, her face looked somewhat hollowed out and drained by fatigue, and her platinum blonde hair, which she had tugged at several times over the difficult business search, looked disheveled.

“Nothing’s pulling at me. Why is every single business so bland?”

“There’s the business of Viscount Serom, whom you even interviewed this time, and the business of the Perso Trading Company is also a solid business without any major flaws, so I don’t know what you’re agonizing over.”

The grumbling voice was close to insubordination, but in reality, it was the withdrawal symptoms of a romantic who hadn’t been able to see his lover for over a week. The one responsible for tearing apart a lover in his prime had no choice but to overlook his cheeky behavior. The scream of an old bachelor was always a terrifying thing.

Asha was also driven crazy by her own incomprehensible heart. Just when she thought, ‘Is it this business?’, the imagination of the business owner stabbing her in the back naturally followed. Even Gale Serman, who had been with her since their academy days, had backstabbed her so perfectly—how would these complete strangers be any different?

She knew it was a frustrating thing to say, but she couldn’t help but be bothered by the character and facial features of the business owners. She wished there was a business that struck her like lightning and drew her in like destiny, but since she kept noticing lukewarm points one by one….

Frowning in agony, she soon said in a firm voice.

“Starting today, we begin working through the night.”

“Aaaargh!”

Melos could only continue to suffer endlessly.
