Chapter 212
After laying him down, Macy nestled herself into his arms. Eren’s strong heartbeat resonated beneath her skin.
His pulse gradually quickened. Hesitating, Macy reached toward the buttons on his shirt.
Without a word, she unfastened them one by one. Eren watched quietly as she did.
When his shirt was fully opened and Macy embraced his soft chest until it was nearly compressed, a heavy breath fell over her head.
“You’re acting strange today. It’s not like your body’s suddenly craving me.”
A flicker of doubt flashed in his eyes. Macy grabbed the hem of his shirt with trembling hands and said,
“I’m just… a little anxious.”
“Anxious about what?”
“Are you tired of me?”
He raised one eyebrow as if hearing something odd.
“You see, I’m not as thin as before, so why don’t you hold me anymore?”
“Didn’t you hate sleeping with me?”
“I do, but I feel like I’m useless now…”
Macy hesitated, embarrassed to say more.
“No matter how much I hate it, you’re the only one I can talk to here, Eren. But if even you find me useless… then I’m afraid no one will come…”
“…That’s not true.”
Eren was silent for a moment before speaking in a low, calm voice.
“I’m not holding you because I’m tired of you.”
“Then why?”
“That’s…”
He seemed to hesitate whether to say the reason or not. His tightly closed lips felt ominous.
Maybe he had suddenly grown sorry for Macy, or something like that. If so, she didn’t want to hear it.
Besides, she wasn’t really asking out of curiosity.
“Then hold me.”
“What?”
“If you’re not tired of me, hold me like you used to.”
By adding “like you used to”, Macy conveyed more than just a hug—she wanted a passionate relationship.
Eren’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
“Aren’t you scared? What if you got pregnant after doing that?”
Though he said that, he still seemed reluctant. But the reason she gave was unexpected.
“Why worry about that? They put contraceptives in my food here anyway.”
“Who told you that?”
“Dia, some time ago…”
Realizing she probably shouldn’t have said that, Macy looked around nervously. Eren sighed quietly and continued speaking.
“It’s been quite a while since I stopped putting contraceptives in your food. Those pills can cause infertility if a woman takes them for too long.”
“W-what?”
“There’s no need to be so shocked. Instead, I’ve been taking contraceptives myself.”
“Ah…”
Macy was startled at first but then immediately relieved. So, he really had been thinking of her all along when preparing her meals…
Watching Macy’s face shift constantly, Eren let out a short, dry laugh.
“So you don’t want to get pregnant?”
“Of course not. But that goes for you too, doesn’t it? You have a fiance, and if you had an illegitimate child, it would disgrace your family—”
“I don’t care.”
Before she finished, Eren cut in.
“I think if you had my child it would be pretty.”
Macy’s face twisted so uncontrollably that she couldn’t keep her expression in check.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.”
He looked at her face intently, as if trying to picture his own child in her features.
In his clear blue eyes, Macy’s reflection appeared. Any flutter or affection she once felt for Eren was gone, replaced by a dry and barren look.
‘And yet, you want me to bear your child?’
Macy found Eren strange—no, downright bizarre.
He locked her up, raised her like a beast, and still wanted to plant his bloodline inside her?
But after a moment of confusion, she began to understand why he might say that. Despite treating her like a beast, he considered her special.
She ate when he fed her, slept when he put her to bed, wore what he dressed her in, and never asked if he loved her—an emotionless pretty doll.
Wholly his own, bearing his name.
That was the role Eren wanted Macy to play. When she acted like that in the Bayatten Mansion, he was more lenient and affectionate toward her.
So even if she bore his child, that child would likely be treated the same as Macy. Manipulated at his whim, a worthless existence ready to be discarded at any moment.
Perhaps, just as he took Macy’s friends hostage to prevent her from ending her life, he might intend to use her child in a similar way…
