“I don’t want that.”
As the thought came to her, her voice grew firm on its own.
“I don’t want to have Eren’s child. So… please take your contraceptives diligently. Actually, put contraceptives in my food too.”
After saying it all, she realized it might be useless. Today could be the last day anyway. She found the sudden topic so dreadful that she didn’t want to think about it any longer.
“…What if you did get pregnant?”
But Eren didn’t seem eager to drop the subject.
“There’s no ‘what if.’ You said you’re taking the pills yourself.”
“I said ‘what if’ and ‘if,’ didn’t I?”
“Stop with the meaningless hypotheticals…”
“What if I forgot to take the pill one day and you got pregnant?”
Eren grabbed Macy’s cheek as she turned away. The softness he’d shown moments ago vanished, replaced by a sharp expression.
A shiver ran down her spine as his hand brushed her stomach. He looked at her with an intense, almost threatening gaze and pressed the question relentlessly.
“If my child were alive and breathing inside you right now… what would you do?”
“Of course…”
No need to think long. She would erase it. No, she’d rather die than pass on this life.
If there was a worse hell than this, it would be that situation.
At some point, every part of Eren—his skin against hers, his breath, his voice, every cell—had become unbearably disgusting to her.
How had she come to hate and despise him so deeply? It was repulsive.
She had once dreamed of building a home with him in the cabin, raising a child, and spending peaceful nights waiting for him under the stars of the forest…
That cabin, where she nurtured that dream, had turned to ashes, and her heart no longer held any warmth.
Her trust was gone, replaced by a brutal sense of betrayal: how could he treat her like this?
She had given up on everything, resigned—yet Eren’s horrible hypothetical about her bearing his child came anyway. He was like a demon.
Though it might have been a question asked out of curiosity, just thinking about it felt like swallowing poison.
Her heart, which she thought had already been bruised beyond repair, felt crushed anew.
“I’d have to give birth. If that’s what you want…”
But she couldn’t answer so plainly. Macy spoke as if resigned to comply once again.
Now she seemed ready to swallow whatever he gave her—be it poison or worse—without protest.
Her emotions surged dangerously close to the surface.
“So hold me. If I get pregnant, I’ll gladly bear your child.”
Closing her eyes, Macy kissed Eren first. He silently gazed at her face for a long moment.
Then suddenly, the world spun and Eren was on top of her.
“That’s not something you say with a face like you’re about to cry.”
He gently brushed her cheek with the back of his hand. His hand slid down like a stream of water and carefully slipped down the strap of her nightgown.
“You’d think our child would be a curse.”
Eren gave a bitter smile and buried his face in Macy’s chest.
The woman, trained by fear, trembled faintly like a frightened little thing.
When he pierced between her thighs in one swift motion, Macy thought—thankfully he was a bad man to the very end.
She was grateful that he’d let her leave without regret.

The bright moonlight cast a soft glow over the forest.
The cabin, quietly nestled among the trees, seemed to dissolve the day’s fatigue just by coming into view.
Rubens entered the front door with steady steps and saw the familiar corridor.
“Welcome, Duke Krygen.”
Dia greeted him first from the room closest to the entrance.
Eren looked around as if searching for another presence. The woman who should have come running in a hurry was nowhere to be seen.
“Is Macy working?”
“No, she’s in the bedroom with the baby.”
“What baby?”
Then a faint sobbing sounded from afar. Soon the cabin echoed with the child’s loud cries.
“Macy’s baby. Isn’t it time for the Duke and Macy’s baby to sleep?”
“What?”
