Whether Fay’s body could carry a child and give birth safely? That too was something he could solve if he found the right method.

He didn’t know the answer yet, but he was certain there would be a way forward. With that confidence, the man smiled gently.

However, Fay felt a strange unease as he repeatedly told her not to worry and the way he kept smiling. Whenever he had that kind of smile, it felt like he was secretly plotting something behind her back again.

He probably wasn’t trying to trick her on purpose. Still, it had happened before. Even if his intentions weren’t malicious, the result might still leave her in serious trouble.

“Al… please tell me honestly. What are you thinking ab—”

Just as Fay grabbed his face to interrogate him, a woman’s voice suddenly rang out.

“You could’ve told me sooner if you already knew, Scarlis. I’m busy enough as it is.”

Fay jolted and looked up. Listening carefully, she realized someone’s footsteps were approaching straight toward the kitchen.

“W-we have to hide!”

She grabbed the half-undressed man and shook him urgently. Moments later, the kitchen door opened and Virelda stepped inside.

“Fay?”

Virelda wandered around the kitchen, searching for Fay or Zynie. She had definitely heard they were here, but neither of them was visible.

They must have been here earlier. The kitchen was a mess, and half-set cream was splattered everywhere.

“What did those two do to make such a disaster…?”

Virelda clicked her tongue.

Meanwhile, Fay was hiding in the pantry, peering through a narrow crack as Virelda moved back and forth across the kitchen. They had barely managed to hide behind the thin wooden door—but there was a problem.

She and Alnazir were still joined together below. Fay tried to slowly pull away from him.

Instead, Alnazir—who had been crouching—suddenly stood upright.

Her feet lifted off the ground. Instinctively, she wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him for balance.

“P-pull out…!”

Fay whispered desperately, praying Virelda wouldn’t hear.

“I can’t. I’m not allowed to move.”

The irritating reply came back immediately.

True to her earlier command, he wasn’t moving at all. His hands rested on her waist, the tentacles on his upper body stayed still as he stood perfectly straight.

Because of gravity pulling her downward, the pressure inside her only deepened. Fay suppressed a moan and clung tightly to his neck, lifting her hips to ease the pressure.

She had completely forgotten that this was the castle’s kitchen. She had assumed no one would come this far!

With pitiful eyes, she silently begged him to pull out.

Please. Please. If Virelda sees us like this, I’ll die of embarrassment! She screamed the words in her mind, but only her eyes spoke.

Suddenly, she felt a tightening inside.

“!”

A sound nearly escaped her throat. In panic, she bit down on his shoulder to stifle it. At the same time, she felt warmth filling her deep inside.

This was not the moment for that!

Fay reminded herself she absolutely couldn’t make a sound. But her vision turned white, and the rush of blood made her breathing grow uneven despite her efforts.

“Did I hear something?”

Virelda narrowed her eyes and glanced toward the pantry. She listened carefully, but the noise didn’t come again.

“…I must’ve imagined it.”

Muttering to herself, Virelda soon left the kitchen with Scarlis. When their footsteps finally faded away, Fay released the breath she had been holding.

A thick liquid slowly dripped downward.

“Lord Al…”

Fay glared at him, breathing hard.

Alnazir tilted his head, looking as though he genuinely didn’t understand what he had done wrong.

“You said it was okay.”

“You have to pick the right moment! I almost made a noise and got us caught!”

“Why do you always say we can’t be discovered? Reproduction is a natural act for humans. Why does it have to be done in secret?”

“Because of social decency! Showing something this indecent to other people is embarrassing!”

“I don’t really understand, but calm down. We hid in here, so no one saw anything.”

Surely this wouldn’t undo the fragile reconciliation they had just managed to reach.

Alnazir still didn’t understand what the problem was, but he watched her nervously anyway.
