Chapter 22
Would it be too stupid to regret saying that out loud? Fay suddenly felt so anxious about the fallout from their little argument that she wanted to run away from home right then and there.
“You’re going to get mad? At me?”
As expected, Alnazir was utterly taken aback by her defiance and asked again. Fay ran away—well, pretended to, making exaggerated snoring sounds even though she knew full well he could catch her in an instant if he wanted.
“Witch.”
Alnazir was not fooled for a second by her obviously fake performance.
“Snoooore.”
“Witch Fay.”
He called her name several more times, but Fay stubbornly kept up her act. At last, it seemed like her perseverance had paid off—Alnazir went quiet, and all was still.
Looks like she’ll actually get some sleep tonight.
Her acting had fooled even an invoked—at least, so she thought. Just then, something grabbed her ankle and yanked. A tentacle wrapped around each of her arms and legs, lifting Fay up until her nose was almost pressed to the ceiling.
There was no way she could keep pretending to be asleep after that. Fay screamed.
“Wait—what are you doing?! I’m your contractor! Did you forget what’s in our contract? You’re not supposed to torment me!”
“Maybe you’re the one who forgot. I only have one request: a conversation every day.”
“Stop it! Stop! I’m dizzy! Okay, okay—I’ll tell you whatever story you want, just put me down!”
The wicked invoked spun her around like a top. Fay was so dizzy and terrified she could only beg for mercy. It was only after her fifth desperate plea for her life that Alnazir finally set her down on the edge of the bed, looking oddly satisfied with himself. The smug look on his face made her blood boil.
“Witch Fay, I expect you to honor the contract now.”
Fay swallowed down her anger and glared at him, figuring he wouldn’t see her rebellious eyes in the dark and that gave her some courage.
“Fine. I’ll tell you whatever story you want. But first, move this.”
She poked the tentacle that was still pressing heavily on her shoulder. The firm appendage slid away, and the thinner end brushed her cheek.
“Does it still hurt?”
“It’s not that it hurts…”
She didn’t dare say it was because she kept getting weird feelings whenever he touched her. She imagined he’d just dig even further, finding it all very entertaining.
“So, what kind of story do you want tonight?”
“Still trying to change the subject. If it hurts, just tell me. Hurting you would be a breach of contract, after all.”
Alnazir insisted it was only because he wanted to honor their contract, but the sly look in his eyes suggested otherwise.
“Mm…”
A soft sound escaped from between Fay’s teeth.
“See? You can’t even hide the sound when you’re in pain.”
Alnazir slowly stroked her soft thigh through her pajamas. Every time he touched her, a chill ran down Fay’s spine and drove her crazy. She tried to push his hand away, but somehow she just ended up holding onto him instead, unable to stop him.
“Still hurting?”
“N-no. I told you, I’m fine!”
“Now?”
“Stop—ah, uh…”
Fay bit down hard. Heat rushed through her, leaving her dizzy. She really thought she might lose it if this kept up.
Is there really anyone in the world who can climax just from being touched on the thigh? Even if there were, she desperately hoped she wasn’t one of those people.
Alnazir, undeterred, pressed his palm firmly against her squishy thigh.
“Does this hurt more than before?”
“Stop, please! Don’t touch me! I’m not in pain, really, I’m not!”
“So it doesn’t hurt, but it feels good, doesn’t it?”
“…What?”
“I asked if it feels good.”
“W-why are you asking that? Do I look like I’m enjoying this or something?”
She’d tried so hard not to let it show—did he really already know? Fay was so shocked she could barely form words.
“I’m doing it so you’ll feel pleasure.”
“…What?”
Fay couldn’t believe her ears and asked again. Alnazir removed his hand from her thigh and answered in an utterly calm tone, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“There’s nothing more effective than pleasure for making you forget pain.”
