Chapter 24
Well, even if Alnazir is a dangerous octopus, he’s still her invoked now. As long as the contract binds him, he can’t attack his witch.
“I guess I was worried for nothing.”
Fay muttered, finally letting herself relax. Relief brought a smile to her flushed face—she was honestly glad to be free from the fear that he might hurt her.
“You look like you’re in a good mood.”
He was just stating what he saw, but to Fay, it sounded like he was teasing her.
“This is your fault, you know.”
She grumbled and fidgeted with her lips, but blaming him wasn’t quite enough. In fact, the way his fingers stroked hers only made her want him to touch her elsewhere, too.
“Alnazir, why are you doing this?”
What she really wanted to ask was, why did you leave me so starved for affection? But she skirted around it as much as she could.
“What you wanted from me was conversation, not… touching.”
He nodded in agreement but still didn’t stop. One hand continued holding her, while the other slipped over her belly and waist, caressing her through her nightgown.
“I never promised not to touch you.”
“T-That’s not an answer…”
She let out a hot, shaky breath as she pressed him for a reason. Now, even without direct skin contact, she could feel his touch far too intensely—it was driving her crazy.
“Because your reactions are fun to watch.”
Fun? That’s all?
“Don’t treat me like a toy! I’m a witch, you know!”
Fay shot him a teary glare.
Alnazir actually liked the way her eyes sparkled when they welled up like that. With the moisture glimmering under the light, they reminded him of the stars he’d seen while lying at the bottom of the sea.
She’d looked at him with those same eyes the first time they met, too. Lost in the memory, he didn’t realize he was ignoring her until she started squawking.
“I’m a witch who knows how to get angry! You’ll regret it if you keep ignoring me!”
It was quite possibly the least intimidating threat in the world. Alnazir nearly laughed, but instead slid his hand under her waist. Her waist was so slender he felt like he could lift her with one hand.
“Go ahead, make me regret it.”
“Make you…? You want me to?”
“Yeah. If I’ve made you mad, then punish me for it.”
Fay faltered, suddenly unsure what to do now that she was being handed the chance.
He’s even setting things up for her, but she can’t take advantage of it? Maybe she’s just not cut out to be a powerful witch.
Well, if she really were so powerful, she wouldn’t be worried about some mere human threatening her life. Alnazir found himself nodding at the thought.
“Witch, I’m a curious sort. There’s still so much I want to know.”
He pressed down on her pale thigh.
“Nnh…!”
Fay squirmed, letting out a stifled moan as his touch sank into her flesh.
“You’re so hot…”
She complained, but made no real effort to push him away. She bit her lip, and when that wasn’t enough, she bit down on her own hand.
Alnazir released her thigh and slid his hand under her nightgown, stroking her stomach. Fay drew in a tense breath, but as his hand spread a gentle warmth, she finally relaxed.
“I just want to see how you’ll react when I touch you. Your face looks completely relaxed now.”
“You keep touching me and making me feel all weird…”
“If you like having your belly stroked this much, you really are just like a dog.”
The blunt observation caught her off guard.
A dog? Not a puppy, but a dog? For some reason, that felt strangely insulting.
“You’re the one who’s more like a dog than I am.”
“Are you still thinking about what I called you earlier?”
So he’d been keeping that little grudge all along, waiting for his chance at payback. Looks like this octopus doesn’t let things go easily.
At least she called him a puppy, Fay thought to herself.
“At least I said puppy! That’s cuter, you know. I mean, dogs are cute too, but sometimes they can be scary…”
Her words trailed off, a little embarrassed.
So she’s picky in a strange way. Alnazir still didn’t really get why she’d prefer one over the other.
“Fine. You can be a puppy.”
“Why does it feel like I’m being forced to say thank you for nothing…”
Fay rolled her eyes, but her annoyed face quickly melted away when his hand left her stomach and moved up to her chest.
“Ah…!”
He squeezed her b****t, and the jolt of pleasure was far more intense than anything before. Fay cried out, unable to hold back.
