Chapter 30
Specifically, his p***s had been strange.
‘It was pointed… then blunt.’
More than that, he had poked her in a very unusual place. Still a virgin, she didn’t realize she’d received his shaft directly into her womb. But she vaguely understood he’d done something terrifying that a normal man couldn’t.
She gave a brief reply to her husband.
“Fine, I guess. Duke, aren’t you tired?”
She couldn’t relax under his lingering, almost licking gaze. Again, he casually rested his arm against her shoulder.
“Not at all.”
He checked her pulse, skin temperature, inner heat, and where blood flowed before casually lowering his arm.
He’d never shown such interest in anyone else but could focus on her surprisingly easily. Noticing her puzzled look, Kuinan changed the subject to one she couldn’t ignore.
“What tone should I use this time?”
Sylvia had trained him day and night at the castle to speak like a proper noble, but Kuinan always slipped back into his natural way of speaking if she let her guard down. She paused, then seemed to recognize the implied “tone to the Crown Prince” in his words and blinked quickly.
“Make it as refined as possible.”
“Like now?”
“No… definitely not like that.”
Since losing his memories, her husband had never once used formal speech with her. She should have been addressed as “Madam” at least outside the castle, but of course, he ignored such social norms.
Sylvia imagined how angry the Crown Prince would be at his behavior—and the thought scared her.
“Please, this time speak like you’ve been taught.”
“Hmm…”
“Why the hesitation? The Duke must be afraid of the Crown Prince, too.”
Annoyed by his teasing tone, Sylvia snapped sharply. His calm, pale eyes that had been wandering near the window suddenly fixed on her. Smiling brightly, he replied,
“Why?”
“….What?”
“Why would I be afraid of the Crown Prince? I’m not afraid of monsters.”
By human logic, it was a fair comparison. But in truth, Kuinan couldn’t help but not fear monsters—after all, he was one himself.
Sylvia seemed to take his words at face value; her lips trembled.
“After everything you’ve been through, aren’t you afraid of monsters?”
“No.”
“…Since you went missing, Duke, you’ve changed. It’s not just your memories. Something’s very wrong.”
Rubbing her aching belly, Sylvia murmured. Her careless words made his hidden fingertips twitch. Though she openly expressed doubt, he didn’t tense in fear of exposure; instead, his interest deepened, and with a flushed bride-like smile, he said,
“I do have a secret I’m hiding.”
It was a spur-of-the-moment confession. He hadn’t planned to give her such a hint, but curiosity got the better of him.
As he spoke, the woman’s gaze locked precisely on his eyes. The monster felt a chill run through him.
Startled by her stare, he silently parted his lips, itching to fill her pretty face with terror—but he stopped himself.
“…Umm. I’ll tell you once we get closer.”
Though Sylvia believed him to be her husband, they had only met a few weeks earlier. Even as he dropped clues so freely, the perfect mask of a husband he wore kept Sylvia from seeing the chilling truth.
Red with annoyance, she said,
“I’ll find out on my own. No need to get closer.”
Brushing his arm off her shoulder, she pressed herself against the carriage wall and opened a book.
Though written in an unfamiliar script—not the Empire’s language—the hundred-page book contained trivial content. Still, Sylvia scrutinized every word carefully, ignoring her husband and focusing on her reading.
While she flipped the pages of the boring book and sometimes swiped it down with a longing touch, Kuinan rested his chin in his hand and watched the ample swell of her b*****s.
