The monster reached out to the sleeping Duchess and absently toyed with her thigh, mumbling,

“Let’s mate again from tomorrow, Wife.”

Whether instinctively understanding his low whisper or not, Sylvia’s limp fingertips twitched faintly.

The next evening after Rossa slapped her, Sylvia barely managed to wash up early when she heard an absurd demand and almost froze.

‘Once was enough—why again?’

Her expression clearly showed her thoughts. Her husband immediately frowned and asked gruffly,

“You’re the one who seduced me.”

Sylvia nodded. She saw that by giving him an opening to climb on, her husband who was like heaven to her, was boldly teasing her.

His face lit up with joy—just as expected. Though capricious, when he’s so blatantly given a chance, he gets even more upset if she resists.

Sylvia tightened her loose slip gown in the middle and said,

“If you keep pestering me, I’ll insist we sleep in separate rooms.”

“You’re letting me, and I’ll climb all over you. Who said we can sleep separately, Wife?”

He grinned and stroked her thigh. The strangely familiar yet unfamiliar touch made Sylvia miss the chance to brush his hand away coldly. The amusement on his face slowly faded as his expression briefly turned icy, as if saying that everything until now was just a joke.

“Wife.”

“…Yes?”

“Lie down. I won’t do anything.”

Monsters lie as easily as they eat. Usually they lie a hundred or a thousand times better than humans. Kuinan was no ordinary monster—he was particularly mischievous, unscrupulous, and innocent-looking, often causing trouble twice as much as his comrades. He was equally powerful.

Just as Sylvia was about to refuse, Rossa’s shrill cries rang out. She had stubbornly refused palace treatment, wanting to be treated at the castle and endured, screaming like that for more than ten hours straight. Perhaps she hoped her precious son would come to her.
