Chapter 44
But Sylvia was keenly aware that her life was still deeply threatened.
‘If I go through eleven rounds again, my insides will be so raw I won’t be able to walk properly.’
The day after their first night, she’d suffered heavily. After the second night, surprisingly, she only felt some soreness, nothing more.
Suddenly, she noticed a strange metallic taste in her mouth, the faint scent of blood lingering since her nap earlier.
The one who’d secretly dripped drops of monster’s blood into her lips while she slept swallowed a smile when she thoughtfully flicked her tongue.
It was a little act of kindness. She had whimpered during s*x about how painful it was, so he had given her some of his precious blood to help her recover faster.
Kuinan thought this uncharacteristic gentleness suited him well and spoke again.
“If you don’t want eleven, I’ll do ten.”
Having lived months blending into human society and conversing with many humans—including his wife—he’d learned a lot. Confident she couldn’t refuse this offer, he spoke, but the reply was the same: Sylvia firmly shook her head to refuse.
“Not even once.”
“Why?”
“I told you already—I’m not feeling well.”
Her eyes rolled sideways in a disgusting lie—the same as before. Even the human doctor had praised her health and left, but she kept making excuses. Lancart’s voice lowered in irritation.
“Oh? Really?”
The family doctor’s one-month leave was extended to two, then three months. The Duke had ensured the doctor wouldn’t return. His friend Hector said the doctor would have quickly noticed the Duke’s condition, so there was no choice but to be killed.
Anger welled up again.
“Wife, if you’re lying, can I punish you?”
He wouldn’t kill her. Not yet. He’d decided against it for now. If she’d been a threat who deserved death over a trivial provocation, he wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to keep her alive. His grim words made his ‘wife’ flinch.
“…”
“I won’t break any bones. Don’t worry.”
Unlike the despicable woman downstairs, she was someone he liked enough not to break fingers. But he still wanted to torment her—in his way. Like pounding her holes, turning them inside out, or drilling new ones…
She wouldn’t die from that, right?
Kuinan rubbed his chin, pondering briefly before tossing the blindfold behind him.
“Lie down and keep your eyes shut. I’ll check for five minutes.”
He was confident he could tell in five minutes if her body was a wreck or as lively as a spirited pony. Until then, he planned to tease her by rubbing himself against her underwear. If observed closely, one might notice his e******n was not human, but chances of discovery were slim.
“Five minutes?”
“Yes. If you’re not lying, I won’t touch a single finger. For a whole month after.”
Seeing her face brighten instantly, he suddenly felt a wave of discomfort. He started pondering how best to ‘make’ a hole in five minutes. Should he insert something, flip her inside out, or open the deeper parts wide?
His monstrous mind swirled with unspeakable, cruel ideas before settling on one. He smiled wickedly at her flushed face.
“Why hesitate? Scared?”
When he teased her about lying, Sylvia snapped back. Her instincts overtook reason and her lips moved without control. Filled with reckless courage, she consented freely.
“I won’t move for five minutes. But don’t hurt me.”
That simple condition, exposing her vulnerable naked body to a monster, was the biggest regret of her life.
Those five minutes would decide her entire future. A great event she could not yet comprehend. She didn’t realize that what happened in those mere five minutes would shape her whole life.
The moment she agreed, the smile vanished silently from his face, replaced by the predator’s swift motion as he lunged toward his prey.
