Chapter 42
Prina was washing Hunter’s hair with soap as he leaned back against the tub.
“…Ah, that feels nice.”
With his eyes closed, he tilted his head back as if in a good mood. His long neckline and graceful face came into view.
‘So handsome!’
Prina couldn’t help but admire him again. Was it because this was the first time she was seeing his face so close up, in such bright light? With his head tilted all the way back, he somehow looked even more handsome.
Hunter was the most beautiful man Prina had ever seen.
“Do you like it, Prina?”
“……Pardon?”
When Hunter asked with his eyes still closed, Prina flinched in surprise and repeated the question back.
“My face, I mean.”
Sometimes, he acted as if he could read her mind. Or was it just that she was so transparent her intentions showed plainly? It probably was the latter. Every time he asked her something, she could never answer right away, fidgeting like someone who’d done something wrong. It was embarrassing.
“……”
Pretending nothing was wrong, she gently massaged his scalp and stared into empty space, but when she felt his gaze, she glanced down. And as expected, met those bright yellow eyes.
He was quietly watching Prina’s face as she pretended to focus on washing his hair.
They’d lived together for quite some time now, and even slept together just yesterday.
Yet, every time she met his bright yellow eyes, Prina still felt an overwhelming sensation, as if her breath had been stolen. She tried her best not to show it.
“Not to your liking?”
Of course that wasn’t it. His face was perfect, and she was just too embarrassed to say so.
“I doubt that.”
He spoke again as if reading her thoughts.
Prina feigned ignorance, moving her hands more busily as she washed his hair.
“Ah, stings.”
Just then, Hunter suddenly hunched his body with a small groan.
Oh no. It seemed soap had gotten into his eye.
“……”
“A-Are you alright? Oh no…”
She should have been more focused while washing his hair. This was, after all, a matter of tending to a patient, something he had directly asked her to do. But she’d been distracted, and stupidly made a mistake.
The moment Prina leaned forward in a fluster to check his condition, she felt her body suddenly lift into the air, and—splash!—fall into the tub.
It was because Hunter had scooped her up and pulled her into the bathtub with him.
“Ahh…”
As she wiped the bathwater from her face, Hunter’s face came into view. Holding her in his arms, he smiled mischievously.
So it had been a lie.
And in pulling her in, he’d even gotten his bandages completely soaked.
“M-Mr. Hunter, you have to be careful. You’ll make it worse like this. Your bandages are all wet…”
“So what. They’re wet already. You can change them for me again.”
This completely defeated the point of bathing him in the first place.
Prina alone looked distressed, and Hunter didn’t seem to care at all. For some reason, she felt as though she had lost and it irritated her.
“You didn’t really get soap in your eye, did you? Let me see.”
With a worried look, Prina tried to wipe the corner of his eye.
Whether she did or not, Hunter’s gaze was fixed downward.
What on earth was he staring at so intently? Oh no.
Following his gaze, Prina’s blue eyes widened as if they might burst.
“……!”
Her negligee was drenched, revealing the outline of her naked body. Not only her b*****s, but even her pink n*****s were visible. The sight looked even more indecent than being fully naked. In an instant, her face flushed hot.
“I’ve already seen everything. No need to act all modest now.”
Seeing her bright red face, Hunter murmured teasingly. It was so mortifying she wanted to crawl into a hole and hide… but she couldn’t.
Before she knew it, Prina was facing him directly, straddling him and pressed against his chest.
“Ahh… M-Mr. Hunter.”
“You said you’d help me wash.”
“Uh— ah!”
“Do your job, Prina.”
His unhesitating hands pulled her wet negligee up and over, leaving Prina completely exposed and defenseless.
To keep her balance, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his shoulders, only to be startled and quickly pull them back.
“S-Sorry. Did that hurt?”
“I’m fine.”
It must have hurt when the wound was pressed, but he seemed completely unbothered.
Was he doing that out of consideration, worried that she’d feel guilty?
