Chapter 127
The reason was simple.
The conclusion Payne reached was that since they had discovered the exact cause and solution to the rut, there would be no more need for Ashtel’s help.
Of course, Ashtel vehemently disagreed.
The heat trapped within Payne was caused by Ashtel’s pheromones. So, wouldn’t it be more effective for the owner to retrieve them directly?
But Ashtel had many offenses against Payne, making it difficult to sway his stubbornness.
First, the rut was caused by her. Second, Payne still carried the injury from the time he fell off the cliff. Third, he had felt strangely sad ever since he realized that the human maid, Sue, no longer existed.
Yes, for a while he had been unsure, but now he thought that sadness was indeed true.
‘When I sometimes wear something like a maid’s uniform, he gets startled.’
Normally, as per Chacha’s advice, Ashtel would show up in revealing outfits, but it was only for a brief period, and as soon as Payne became e-ect, she would immediately return to a normal human form.
Her hair and face remained the same, though.
‘If I floated around in my succubus form, Payne would hate it.’
However, during the process, Payne seemed to feel a familiar scent from Ashtel.
That sensation became strongest when she was doing household chores without magic, sweeping the floors with a broom.
‘How can I make Payne feel better?’
For various reasons, Payne had been in a gloomy mood lately.
Even Ashtel, being a demon, could see that his mood was in a downward spiral, almost to the point of needing a clever solution.
‘I tried doing what Sis Chacha told me, but it didn’t work…’
The only thing she gained from it was the realization, ‘Humans are this much work?’
She had thought it would be enough to prepare meals and take care of his basic needs, but she had to clean up the house regularly, do laundry, take out the trash, and keep an eye on a lot of things.
‘Was it said that dust causes germs? But what are germs?’
Anyway, when Payne would kick her out of the room to relieve himself, Ashtel would go outside and communicate with her sisters.
She was checking how much Juvia’s magic was affecting things.
—Sue, I want to go down to the human world too!
But today, it seemed that another sister had picked up the communication device instead of Juvia or Carmen.
“…Sis Moa?”
—Isn’t your human cursed? That’s fascinating! I want to see it too!
A childlike voice chattered through the communication device.
With its innocent tone, Ashtel couldn’t help but tap her forehead in frustration.
“No, didn’t you forget about the last time when I was angry?”
Only then did Moablon pout as Ashtel demanded to speak with Chacha instead.
“Change it to Sis Chacha, I have something to say to her.”
—What is it? Don’t you have anything to say to me?
“Hmm…”
Ashtel, who had been planning to ask how to cheer up Payne, suddenly remembered that Moablon was much older than Chacha.
Her actions might seem childish, but she was the third oldest sister.
She was ranked just after Sermedes and Juvia, and knew much more as a result.
That meant she’d had plenty of opportunities to interact with humans.
So, putting her trust in Moablon, Ashtel decided to ask.
“Payne seems a little drained lately… Is there a way to lift his spirits?”
—Oh? To lift his spirits…
Moablon thought for a moment, far more composed than expected.
—Isn’t s-x the answer for males?
“Hey!”
As expected from a succubus, Moablon suggested an explicit solution in a serious tone.
—Why, it’s true. Humans even say things like ‘Are you mad? Want to touch my chest?’
“Well, that’s true, but…”
The problem was that Payne was a priest. A very well-known pure iron-wall priest at that.
Would he really feel better with just s-x?
‘Even if his body is fine…’
He didn’t even want her to touch his body right now, and he was handling his rut alone, so there was no way he would accept comfort from Ashtel.
“I don’t think that’ll work. Is there anything else?”
—Hmm…
A brief moment of pondering followed.
But as expected, given their shared nature, the only solution they could come up with was a lewd one.
Finally, Moablon threw in the towel.
—I don’t know! If he can’t feel better from s-x, then it sounds serious, right? Could he be depressed or something?
“I don’t think so.”
—Or maybe, Sue, just close his eyes and seduce him again. This time, torment him until he’s gasping for breath.
“Sis Moa…”
—You never know. He might experience ultimate pleasure and lose his mind. You’ve never seen it, have you?
Ashtel fell silent.
After thinking it over, Moablon’s words seemed to make sense.
Of course, it wasn’t about Payne experiencing ultimate pleasure and losing his mind—it was that Ashtel had never provided Payne with that level of pleasure before.
