Chapter 142
“Father Payne is relying on me, and the maid and I have some history, so it should be fine.”
The latter was a huge misconception, but Duvalkan’s logic was somewhat sound.
“Father Payne! Maid Sue!”
At the sound of his call, the two inside, who had been sitting together enjoying a bath, froze.
‘Why is that Duval guy here?’
‘How did Sir Duvalkan find us?’
It was almost comical how the thoughts of the kidnapper and the victim aligned.
They exchanged glances, and just as Ashtel hurriedly clamped her hand over Payne’s mouth, the chaos began.
“Pa, Payne, I’ll send Duval away, so just stay quiet here.”
“Pardon?”
“No use in calling for help. I’ll cast a spell to keep him away!”
It was then that Payne realized this was his chance to escape now that Duvalkan had arrived. He had been trapped for days, and now he almost missed the opportunity to be saved?
‘But how can I evade the succubus and signal Duvalkan?’
He quickly scanned the room.
Ashtel’s room, which he had thoroughly explored over the days, fortunately contained many items.
He could just throw something and break it, and Duvalkan would notice something was off.
So, all he had to do was wait for Ashtel to leave the room. But Payne knew that Ashtel wouldn’t fall for this plan easily.
She might be clueless when it came to humans, but scheming was a demon’s forte.
Ashtel quickly wiped the water from her body with a towel, and in the brief moment when Payne averted his gaze from her sudden nakedness, she cast a spell.
“W-wait, what—!”
Before he could react, she lifted him straight out of the bath, dried his dripping body with her own hands, and tossed him onto the bed.
Everything happened so fast that Payne barely had time to process it. He flailed his arms, trying to stop her from touching his backside, but his movements froze when he suddenly felt restraints tightening around his wrists and ankles, binding him to the bedposts.
“Ashtel.”
“Sorry, but you’ll have to stay like this for a while.”
“Ashtel, let me go! I swear I won’t move!”
He couldn’t afford to lose this chance.
If he wanted to stop Ashtel, he needed to be as convincing as possible.
Looking anxiously desperate, Payne pleaded with her.
“How can I possibly go out like this? And more than that, I don’t want anyone to know I’m in the same house as you.”
That made Ashtel hesitate.
‘Is he… serious?’
Her natural weakness toward Payne surfaced immediately.
“Hmm…”
Her round, innocent-looking eyes flickered with uncertainty as she looked at Payne. She wandered around the room in contemplation.
But before she could decide, there was a loud knock.
Bang!
“Miss Sue! I know you’re in there!”
It was Duvalkan’s voice.
There was no more time to hesitate now.
Taking a deep breath, Ashtel made up her mind and turned back to Payne.
Her expression at him was unfortunately filled with apology.
There was something Ashtel’s sisters had warned her about before she brought Payne to the human world.
“Sue, you’re not demonic enough.”
“What?!”
“You’re already too soft, but with your man? You turn completely useless.”
“I-Is that true? But… I like Payne.”
“Then hold on to him like a proper succubus. Never let your guard down.”
“Don’t give him a single chance to escape.”
At the time, Ashtel had only nodded along without much thought.
But now, after returning to the human world and spending days with Payne, she fully understood what they meant.
‘If I don’t keep him here, the demonic energy will kill him.’
His physical health was one thing, but his mental state was fragile as well. And with the curse slowly corrupting him, there was no way she could let him go outside.
She didn’t know how powerful the priests of Katzel Medialle were, but they certainly weren’t going to remove the curse faster than Juvia’s magic could.
So Ashtel had to be firm.
She had to be bold and strong to imprison him completely.
‘I’m sorry, Payne!’
Glancing back one last time, she ran to the entrance.
The door to the bedroom was tightly shut, but she could picture what she had left behind all too clearly.
Payne, bound to the bed. His pillar was restrained. A toy buried inside him.
‘He might struggle, so I had to stop him from climaxing. And if I leave the toy in, he’ll be too humiliated to call for Duval!’
She had no proper gag, so she had wrapped a rope around his mouth to keep him from forming words.
At the very least, he wouldn’t be able to clearly call for help.
With that, she left Payne behind, who was writhing and gasping. Ashtel swiftly ran a hand through her damp hair, threw on a robe, and opened the door.
And so, under the cover of night, an uninvited guest finally appeared—Duvalkan.
