Richard held Judy Esther tightly, feeling sorry for her even though he hadn’t done anything wrong. He was upset that he had made her anxious and fearful, even if it wasn’t his fault.

“I’ll make you forget that version of me. I’ll be so good to you that you won’t even remember it.”

“But… was it really just a dream? It felt so real.”

“The woman I fell in love with at first sight is you, Judy Esther, not Cinderella.”

As she muttered, “Will the original story change…,” her eyelids fluttered closed, and her head fell into his embrace. It seemed like the long conversation had tired her.

‘What should I do with that person?’

It is said that a powerful person in love can be dangerous. In his mind, he was already imagining capturing the author and torturing him in a hundred different ways.

Adrian is a country that is generous towards artists, guaranteeing artistic freedom as long as they don’t openly denigrate the royal family. However, Richard wasn’t so sure he could forgive the author of the novel Judy Esther had read, which had caused so much trouble between them.

“Judy Esther, I am different from the character in the novel. I will never betray nor harm you.”

She had suffered five years of heartache because of a novel. It would have been better if they had met earlier and had this conversation.

As he laid Judy Esther down on the bed, a deep sigh escaped her. Outside the window, the streets were still lively with the festival atmosphere, even though it was late. People were excited to eat, drink, and enjoy themselves all night long.

“Ultimately, I need to do better.”

To dispel the anxiety in her heart.

A tear had formed on her long eyelashes. Unconsciously, his finger touched her tear. There will be no more tears now.

She mumbled something and curled up beside him. Richard also lay down behind her, gently brushing her shiny pink hair back and embracing her. Her breathing gradually slowed, and she fell asleep.

Today, he had planned to send her home in the evening, but his plans had been thwarted again. How many people had seen them enter the inn together? Rumors would grow and blow up.

“Judy, now you can’t run away even if you want to. I’ll chase you to the ends of the earth and catch you.”

Her head hurt like it was going to split. Opening her heavy eyelids, she saw an unfamiliar ceiling. It wasn’t the wall of the crown prince’s palace nor her room in the marquis’s estate. Turning on her side, she found Richard sleeping with his arm under her head. Memories of the previous night came back—drinking with the secondary male character, the late-joining Richard, and herself.

They had eaten octopus and oysters, grilled clams and prawns, and chicken skewers. It was a fantastic combination of snacks, and she had overdrank. Fortunately, she didn’t seem to have made any major mistakes, but she had stayed out again. For three days straight. She didn’t need to see her father’s reaction; she didn’t even want to.

“Should we rest for a bit before going back?”

“A waterbed would be nice. I wonder if they have that here.”

She remembered grabbing Richard by the lapels and insisting on entering the inn. She couldn’t help but think that sometimes it would be good for her mental health if the film of her life just cut off.

“Give us a room.”

She had boldly asked for a room as soon as they entered, even confirming that they only needed one. Ah, she must have been crazy.

She looked at her body and saw that her clothes were off. Richard was no different. Except, unlike last time, their clothes were neatly folded and placed on the table. Since her body didn’t hurt anywhere, it seemed they had just held hands and slept.

It seemed that even if she didn’t intentionally change the original story, things were changing on their own. The crown prince keeps failing to attend the palace balls. This makes it impossible for him to meet Ella, no matter how beautifully she dresses up. It’s like saying you need to look at the sky to see the stars, but they wouldn’t meet, so nothing would happen.

Maybe she should stop drinking. Whenever she drank, she lost control. Plus, she seemed to have spoiled the original story yesterday. It seemed there was no mechanism here to prevent spoilers.

“I had a dream.”

Even in that situation, she didn’t say that this was a novel world. She quickly covered it up by saying it was a dream, so maybe she did well.

She felt like she was living on borrowed time. It was like walking on thin ice, precarious and uncertain. But she wouldn’t be afraid now. Maybe on the last day of the festival, Ella would appear and change everything.

Show up.

Let’s fight. Will the original heroine win, or will I?

And Richard, whose side will you take?

“If you don’t take my side, I’ll hate you.”
