Helios stared quietly at his own hands that had been embracing her body just moments ago, then muttered as if making a prophecy.

“You’ll escape from here someday anyway.”

For a moment, a subtle crack appeared in Psyche’s expression. Before she could say anything, Helios continued.

“Phrena, let me assure you of one thing… Even if you succeed in escaping, you’ll eventually return to us.”

His tone was irritatingly confident.

“The things that happened here will always follow you, and your body will never forget the taste of our c***s.”

“…Don’t say such nonsense.”

“For some reason, Psyche couldn’t refute his words more strongly. She could only mutter in a voice that sounded pathetic even to her own ears.

“Whether it’s nonsense or not, we’ll see later, Phrena.”

Helios curved his lips gently. It was a smile as if he knew something. While she glared at him with tightly sealed lips, he simply shrugged his shoulders once and left with light footsteps, as if that had been his only business.

Psyche blinked vacantly while covering herself up to her neck with the blanket. Perhaps because there were so many concerning issues lately, sleep wouldn’t come.

Two hours ago, she had overheard a conversation between Rezus and Helios and learned one important fact. That one of Helios’s main abilities was precognition.

However, when Rezus asked, “Is there a chance Psyche will succeed in escaping from here?” he had answered, “I don’t know. I can’t see it.” This contradicted what he had told her today.

‘You’ll escape from here someday anyway.’

He had clearly said that. Meaning, he knew she would soon manifest her ability and escape. So why had he lied to Rezus?

That wasn’t the only thing bothering her.

Rezus’s attitude of dismissing the suspicious movements of enemy countries as nothing significant, Serdin’s presence that hadn’t been felt for days, and the silent Zephyros.

Decisively, although it felt like something was about to happen, the continued quiet situation with nothing actually happening only amplified her anxiety.

“…Haa.”

Her throat was dry. When she tried to get some water, the pitcher was empty. She reflexively checked the clock. It was slightly past midnight.

Right now, there was no sign of movement on the first floor. Without further deliberation, Psyche went straight downstairs. The other pitcher was in the main dining room, and to reach the main dining room, she had to pass through the main hall.

She was just about to pass through the hall.

“Having fun playing games?”

Psyche flinched and turned her head toward the source of the voice. Who knows how long he had been there—Rezus was leaning against the wall between the hall and the dining room. He looked more haggard than usual, as if he hadn’t been sleeping well lately. The sharp atmosphere surrounding him seemed to pierce her skin, making her swallow dryly before parting her lips.

“…Speak so I can understand.”

He twisted up one corner of his mouth and walked steadily toward Psyche. His pace was neither fast nor slow, but due to his wide stride, he reached her in an instant. As the well-built man nearly twice her size blocked her path, tension rose across her face. Rezus looked at her as if mocking her expression and spoke languidly.

“Why don’t you try seducing me too? Perhaps I might fall for your clever little tricks.”

She let out a scoffing laugh. She had wondered why he was suddenly acting this way—it seemed he wanted to vent his frustration about her swaying Serdin and Helios’s hearts.

“…Not even worth responding to. Move aside.”

She attempted to walk past Rezus. It was an action stemming from her judgment that he looked somewhat dangerous, and it would be better to avoid him for now. But before she could take even one step, her wrist was grabbed. Then her body was violently pushed against the wall.

“Ah…!”

“If you want to stay unharmed like you are now.”

Her body hurt from hitting the wall. As she hunched her shoulders and lowered her head, Rezus inconsiderately lifted her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.

“Stay quiet as if you’re dead.”

“……”

“There’s a limit to my tolerance.”

Psyche bit her lower lip and glared at him, then spat out as if grinding her words.

“Have you ever been tolerant?”

“Psyche.”

An ominously gentle voice fell upon her shoulders.

“If you were a man, would you still be able to look me straight in the eyes like this?”

“……”

“Forget about coming out of your room—you’d be trembling like a bug, cowering in a corner, terrified of even the smallest sound from outside the door.”

Her body instinctively shrank from the intimidation emanating from him. Not wanting to reveal that she was frightened, Psyche deliberately lifted her head even more rigidly and stared directly into his eyes.

If Helios's ability is foresight, couldn't he have foreseen Ruon's abduction? So all the scenarios in my mind are completely destroyed.. perhaps the writer is going to completely twist the plot .
