Chapter 14
“Ha… good. Yeah. Sweet, charming girls are nice, but someone like you is perfect to keep around. A quiet wife who doesn’t cost much. Besides, those worn-out women are too wet and sloppy down there. But you, your hole’s still so tight… hah!”
He grimaced, struggling to hold on as he plowed into her.
She felt the warning signs of his release and quickly thought back to when she’d last had her contraceptive tea.
Two days ago. That was enough.
She clenched her lower body tight.
“Ugh.”
After a few tries over the years, she had learned exactly when to tense up. Early in the marriage, she’d done it from the start, just wanting things to end faster.
But it didn’t take long to realize that only stirred up his pathetic c**k even more.
When the Viscount groaned with pleasure, the whole ordeal lasted longer and became harder to endure.
So after some experimenting on her own, she reached a conclusion. Stay still when he first entered. Wait a few minutes. When his breathing turned ragged and he started struggling, that was the moment to clench.
Then the Viscount would clutch his chest, gasp for air, and eventually pull out on his own. A man nearing fifty never came back for a second round.
And that was the end of it for the night.
She’d wait for him to fall asleep, and the moment she heard him snoring, she’d slip out and wash herself with lukewarm water.
For a long, long time. Until the sun came up.
The Viscount’s face twisted. She watched his contorted expression and clenched even harder.
“Guhk!”
Soon enough, he let out a rough groan and collapsed on top of her.
“…Ugh.”
She let out a muffled gasp under his weight.
The moment he fell, his c**k slipped out and she felt his s***n trickle down between her legs. She grimaced in disgust.
There was no need to see his face anymore, so her expression grew colder.
She wanted to shove his sweaty, heavy body off her right away, but not yet. He was drunk. Just a little more patience and he’d pass out.
She just had to wait until then.
One, two, three… four, five…
Evina shut her eyes tight and counted in her head. By the time she slowly reached a hundred, the Viscount finally started snoring.
She knew well that once he was asleep, he wouldn’t wake up even if someone died beside him. She quickly pushed his heavy body off and got up.
Then she pulled hard on the cord to call her maid, Therese.
She tore off the clothes that had touched the Viscount, threw on a gown, and waited a moment. Soon, Therese carefully opened the door, her face still heavy with sleep.
“It’s ready, my lady.”
Evina nodded quickly and followed her maid to the bathroom.
“Sorry, Therese. For waking you.”
“No, my lady. It’s my job. I see the Viscount stayed over tonight.”
She glanced at the handprints left on Evina’s cheek and neck.
“Hurry.”
Evina urged her on.
“Yes, yes, my lady.”
Once inside the bathroom, Evina shed her gown as if she couldn’t wait any longer and sank into the water.
“…It’s cold.”
She was never allowed hot water because of the Viscount’s threats, but this was worse than usual.
Not just lukewarm. It felt like it had been drawn straight from the well.
“I meant to warn you, but you already got in. The Viscount said to cut down on firewood even more. You should’ve gone in slowly.”
Therese frowned and gently poured the cold water over Evina’s shoulders.
“Are you alright?”
“Cold.”
“Right? Honestly, my lady, your impatience is something else.”
Evina shook her head.
“Just wash me quickly. I need to finish up and warm myself by the fire.”
“Yes, my lady.”
Therese seemed determined to wash her as fast as possible. She poured cold water over her head, then carefully soaped up Evina’s shivering body.
She scrubbed behind her ears, the inside of her thighs, even between her toes with a rough cloth. Only then did Evina soak in fresh water again.
Still ice cold, but at least she felt clean.
She no longer felt filthy.
“You might catch a cold.”
“I’ll be fine.”
Evina took the towel from Therese and shook out her hair.
She could’ve let her do it, but then she really might get sick.
The Viscount would never call a doctor. He’d just toss her some cheap medicine he bought somewhere. It was best not to get ill in the first place.
She dried off quickly, slipped on a chemise, sent Therese back to bed, and sat down in front of the fireplace.
“Haah.”
Her body, frozen from the ice cold water, slowly began to thaw. She wrapped her arms around herself and finally rested her forehead on her knees, closing her eyes.
It was an unlucky day.
And Evina Siollier was always unlucky.
