It was true that Izzen had deceived and used Heesu. He had been angry about that fact. Because he was sincere toward Heesu.

But had that sincerity been of any value? He couldn’t do anything with that sincerity. He couldn’t even kill Izzen. He had only been able to chase him away.

Violen didn’t trust Izzen. Even though Izzen had shown concern for Heesu’s health and well-being a few times before, he had thought it was all an act. He had only thought he was pretending to be concerned. After deceiving and using her like that, how could he possibly be truly concerned?

Well, when Izzen, in his disgraceful state of having run away, had gone so far as to worry about and take care of Heesu’s financial situation, he had belatedly started to wonder if Izzen’s concern might have been a little bit sincere.

But now, what did it matter if he was sincere or not? Even if he wasn’t sincere, even if Izzen had only moved with the single purpose of using Heesu,

In the end, it was Izzen, not himself, who had watched over Heesu without missing a single moment and saved her the moment she was in danger. Izzen’s insincere purpose was far more useful than his own sincere heart. It was much more helpful to Heesu.

That day, if Izzen had not been able to escape and had been killed by him, Heesu might have been subjected to a terrible fate without being saved. She might have never been saved at all. If that had happened, his sincerity would have been nothing but a hindrance to Heesu, not a help.

Violen had been truly sincere about protecting Heesu.

That’s why he had watched her without taking his eyes off her. But the moment he looked away for a moment, Heesu fell into danger, and Izzen, who had been watching her in a different way, failed to stop it and asked that person for help. In the meantime, Rufus found Heesu and tried to save her, nearly dying in the process, and in the end, it was the person Izzen called who saved Heesu.

All those things happened and ended without him having any part in them. He ended up doing nothing, not even knowing what was happening. That’s how it ended.

So he realized it. The fact that he had been mistaken all this time.

Violen had thought that sincerity was a great thing. Since he had felt sincerity for the first time in his life, he had thought it had immense value in itself. He had thought that with just that sincerity, he could do anything for Heesu and give her anything.

But he was wrong. His sincerity had no meaning. Sincerity was truly, nothing. That was terrible.

But what was even more terrible was…….

Violen’s steps stopped.

The black water that had been deeply staining the ground with every step he took felt as if it had hardened on the soles of his feet. His body, connected to his feet, also felt as if it had hardened like a statue. Soaked in black water, he felt as if he would have to live his entire life submerged in a gutter forever.

“Did that person…….”

After saying that much, Violen felt as if he was about to suffocate and closed his mouth. He felt as if the black water that had risen to his chin would gush into his mouth at any moment. He couldn’t open his mouth again. The rest of his words wouldn’t come out easily.

“Did that person…… imprint Heesu?”

But he asked. He couldn’t stand it without asking.

The moment he asked, he felt as if black water was seeping out of his mouth. He didn’t know if he had swallowed it without realizing it, or if his sincerity had always been this color from the beginning.

It was terrible. The fact that, even in this situation, the thing that weighed on his mind the most was that question. It was so terrible. It was truly unbearable.

He didn’t know how to love. So he was just choosing and taking the methods he thought were the best.

It was like walking on a tightrope that was infinitely precarious. Even though he knew well that the path in front of him was submerged in an endless darkness, he took one step at a time, one step at a time. That’s how he was slowly moving forward.

And now, the end of that tightrope was finally in sight.

With his body submerged in endless darkness, he looked at the end and asked.

If that person had imprinted Heesu. Now that he knew everything, if he had made Heesu his subordinate and his female. And if he had now completely possessed Heesu and perfectly taken her away from him.

He asked that.

It was a question with a predetermined answer.

The reason Violen hadn’t tried to possess Heesu was because he didn’t have the right.

But that person had the right. Now he even had a justification. So what reason on earth would he have not to? But,

“No.”

A different answer than the one he had expected came back.

“Why?”

Violen asked back immediately.

At first, he was puzzled, then a little angry. Even if he didn’t want to possess Heesu, he had no choice but to make her his subordinate to protect her. So, at the very least, if he was going to take her away from him completely, he wished he would protect her perfectly.

And yet, if he didn’t even do that…….

“He…….”

But Izzen’s answer was even more unexpected.
