It had been a long time since going out to the Han River. The river, undulating vastly like the sea, was sparkling dazzlingly as it met the sunlight, and the trees were casting lush green shadows over the world, having just welcomed early summer. Perhaps because the weather was good, everyone from people spreading mats on the grass to rest to people walking the paths all had bright expressions.

Except for Heesu alone.

Heesu looked down at the black tracksuit she was wearing with a gloomy expression.

Though it was a tracksuit, it was a product purchased from a professional outdoor store, and its crisp, well-tailored appearance clearly showed it was an expensive new item. It was Izzen’s forced gift. As soon as they finished eating, Izzen brought out tracksuits prepared for all four people in their respective sizes and made everyone wear them. As she had felt during the mountain climbing too, he was a person who was thoroughly particular about attire for no good reason.

Thus, four men and women wearing identical black tracksuits headed to Han River Park. The sight of them getting out of a sleek red foreign car and moving in a group drew everyone’s attention. Even now, standing side by side in this state, she could feel passersby glancing at them. Thanks to this, Heesu’s face turned bright red with embarrassment as her gaze wandered around.

“Oh my, look at those men.”

“Wow…… oh my goodness. All three are so handsome.”

“Pretty, cool, and handsome…… they have all types.”

“What are they doing that such handsome men are gathered together?”

“Right. Are they filming something?”

At the conversation she suddenly heard, Heesu’s ears perked up. It seemed the focused attention wasn’t just because they were wearing matching tracksuits. Somehow feeling her shoulders rise, Heesu proudly lifted her head and felt pleased.

Hmm. My men are quite handsome.

If asked whether all three were really her men, the answer would be no, but at least for this moment, she wanted to think so and feel proud.

Heesu looked at the three men with a satisfied expression. Though they wore black contact lenses and had hats pressed down on their heads to avoid public attention, they all looked handsome as usual. No, being under sunlight made their beauty sparkle even more than usual. Seeing them outside like this made her newly realize how truly handsome they all were. To the extent that all the passersby looked like aliens or squids.

“But that girl…… is she staff?”

“Why is such a girl mixed in among them?”

“…….”

At the women’s conversation she suddenly heard, Heesu became embarrassed again and hung her head, covering her face with her hands. Well, that meant she was the same too. Standing next to them, all ordinary people would look like average aliens and squids.

Heesu gradually moved away from the three men’s side. But no matter how far she moved, as long as she wore the same clothes, there seemed no way to avoid being seen as part of their group.

Heesu wanted to go home. Actually, she had wanted to go home from earlier, but now she wanted to go home even more intensely.

Eventually, Heesu secretly attempted to escape. But she was caught by Izzen pathetically quickly and dragged back. For someone with terrible stamina, even escape was too much.

“Now, let’s exercise!”

Izzen, who shouted energetically, began doing calisthenics. Heesu eventually watched his demonstration with the feeling of crying while eating mustard and followed along with the exercises to his commands.

Though Heesu had poor motor skills, she could somehow follow along well. Thinking about why, the movements all seemed familiar. Thinking more about why they were familiar, Heesu soon realized this was the national calisthenics she had done in elementary school. Suddenly it felt like the energetic command sounds along with the music she had heard then were echoing in her head.

Why does Izzen know all this stuff?

Heesu looked at Izzen with a suspicious expression, but the man who looked normal and was earnestly busy demonstrating national calisthenics with a serious face was too focused on that. Eventually giving up, Heesu roughly finished the national calisthenics while moving her arms and legs listlessly.

Next was race walking. Despite clearly saying it was race walking, Rufus, who had started running fiercely from the beginning, was nowhere to be seen.

On the other hand, Heesu was panting from exhaustion in less than ten minutes after starting race walking. Even though it wasn’t running but just walking fast, her arms and legs were already shaking. Eventually Heesu staggered and sat down on the ground.

“Get up, Miss Heesu. This is just the beginning.”

Of course, Izzen wasn’t going to let that slide. Eventually Heesu had to stagger and chase after Izzen walking ahead.

“Cheer up.”

Violen walked beside Heesu, matching her pace, and spoke. Heesu, who had been looking at his profile, soon straightened her posture.

She was grateful for Violen’s heart in genuinely worrying about her weak self and encouraging her by staying with her. She felt touched for some reason. Just having someone who cared about her this much seemed to make energy surge up. So she walked with effort.

After somehow finishing about an hour of race walking and doing light stretching, all the exercise schedule was finally over.

Heesu sat on the mat Violen had spread out, panting.

“Good work.”

“Good work.”

The two men alternately said they had worked hard. Receiving a moderately melted cold ice water bottle and drinking water, an dizzyingly cool refreshing sensation flowed through her entire body.

It felt good. Heesu slowly took deep breaths and looked around. Though she thought she would die from the difficulty, after somehow completing it, she felt strangely refreshed and proud.

“Master! I can still run more! Look! I run well!”

Rufus, still overflowing with energy, was excitedly running across the grass field and continuously shouting something. He still seemed not to understand that race walking wasn’t a running exercise.

Thanks to this, people’s attention was focused again. Heesu pretended not to know, as if he wasn’t calling her.

He was certainly a remarkably handsome man, but acting like that made him look stupid, which was embarrassing. Since he had forcibly tucked his tail inside his b******s to hide it, he looked like he had a severe duck butt, making it even more embarrassing. It really was a serious duck butt.

Whether he knew this or not, Rufus kept grinning and looking at Heesu even while running. He seemed to want something.

……Should I praise him?

Heesu watched this with complicated feelings. She had wanted to raise a large dog from before, but she hadn’t wanted to raise a dog that looked like a person like that. It was troublesome for a big man to follow her around like a dog like that.

No, it should be troublesome. Yet it wasn’t troublesome. Looking at him, she really thought he was cute like a dog. Really troublesomely, she kept thinking that.

“He really is like a dog.”

Violen, who had been watching that scene from beside her, made a comment. He was probably thinking the same thing.

“You’re not insulting him now, are you?”

“Of course not.”

When Violen chuckled and replied, Heesu quietly looked at him.

Violen had been angry at her because of Rufus’s matter. Because of that, Heesu kept watching his mood. But whether it was her imagination or not, he seemed to have a more relaxed attitude than before.

“Do you still dislike it if I’m nice to Rufus?”

“No.”

Perhaps it wasn’t her imagination after all, as Violen replied refreshingly.

“I was thinking you’d probably start worrying about it soon.”

“I’m kind of stupid, aren’t I? Even after experiencing something like that, I’m already like this so quickly…….”

“Yes. You’re stupid and frustrating.”

Because Violen affirmed it so immediately, Heesu looked at him with hurt eyes. But the next moment, his hand overlapped hers. While overlapping body temperature like that, his profile looking at the distant river spoke.

“But I like that soft-hearted side of you.”

“…….”

At those words, Heesu’s face flushed hotly as she turned her gaze away. Even so, she didn’t pull away the overlapping hand. Even though their sweat-soaked fingers were intertwined and should have felt gross, it strangely felt good.

In the distance, she could see Rufus running toward them calling for his master again. Heesu waved her hand toward him with a much more refreshed expression. She smiled brightly without worry or ulterior motives.

The exceptionally clear sunlight pouring down, and the transparently illuminated atmosphere. The lush green trees and the sparkling blue river water rippling on a certain day in early summer. The magical girl was happy in her own way together with the demons.
