The dagger was easily blocked by the barrier of wind and fell to the ground before it even hit, but Kyle drew another dagger and drove it into Calix’s side.

The doctor glanced over at the spot where the smell of blood was thickest and continued,
“You should get treated as well, Commander-in-Chief. Even an Esper shouldn’t just leave wounds unattended.”
“Fine.”
At the doctor’s request, Calix removed his shirt, revealing the stab wound Kyle had left in his side. The doctor examined it with a serious expression.
“If the dagger had been a little longer, it could have been dangerous. Please get treatment right away next time.”
After making this formal request, the doctor hurried to begin treatment. Calix had mixed feelings at the way the doctor looked at him. There had been a time when no one treated him as the crown prince, and now people were going out of their way for him. It was less pleasing and more distasteful.
But he saw no reason to show this on his face. After all, it was a good thing for him in the end.
Once he’d finished his own treatment and sent the doctor out, Calix lay down next to Lea. He disliked that her body carried the scent of another man, so he carefully cleansed her with his water ability as she slept.

This attempted kidnapping of Lea was entirely his own mistake.
“Maybe I should just keep her with me.”
He had left her at the camp out of concern, but in hindsight, she was safest by his side.
