Chapter 29
“You know what I mentioned last time. That… etiquette lesson.”
Roarna cleared her throat awkwardly.
“Of course, I don’t just mean teaching you manners. While we’re at it, we can alleviate your symptoms too… something like that.”
Having said that, Roarna came down from the ladder.
Celesto reflexively pulled his hood down deeper. Because as the distance between them shortened, the sweet scent emanating from Roarna seemed to grow stronger.
“…So what are you going to do?”
“Well, broadly speaking, you could call it a kind of warm-up exercise…”
Roarna’s answer lacked confidence.
Celesto could picture what face Roarna was making right now. She was probably rolling those blue eyes around with an awkward expression.
He took a deep breath. Whenever Roarna acted like this, something beyond imagination usually happened. With his throbbing lower abdomen and racing heart, he needed to prepare himself mentally.
“So what exactly are you trying to do?”
Celesto pressed curtly.
Soon, as expected, a shocking answer came back.
“Ki—kissing…”
“…What?”
Celesto’s breathing fell apart in an instant.
“Ki… why? Why would we do something like that?”
He asked in a somewhat urgent voice.
Just from grinding against her a few times, he already couldn’t sleep at night because of thoughts of Roarna. If they went as far as rubbing lips like lovers, it was obvious what kind of situation would unfold.
Meanwhile, as if she had steeled herself, Roarna began a rather blunt explanation.
“It’s necessary in two areas. One is breathing.”
Standing at a slant, Roarna looked up at him.
She seemed quite dissatisfied about something.
“You, honestly, are a complete mess.”
“What do you mean?”
“Every time, you just push ahead without any control over intensity. If you keep going like that without even giving me time to breathe and I pass out, what are you going to do?”
“……”
Celesto couldn’t refute that. Roarna, crying out and whimpering, had indeed looked so breathless it seemed like she might pass out at any moment.
Perhaps encouraged by his compliant reaction, Roarna continued trying to persuade him.
“This isn’t the real thing, but… it’s still interaction, right? For the sake of easing the curse, I think we need to understand how each other’s breathing works.”
“…What’s the other one?”
Celesto asked in a hoarse voice.
He knew his friend well. Roarna wasn’t particularly good at persuading people. Like most who weren’t, she had a habit of bringing up the easier point first.
Which meant the second reason would be even more absurd.
As expected, Roarna took a small, deep breath. She seemed to be trying not to let him notice, but it was completely obvious to him.
Celesto lifted his head and looked at her. Her clear, gleaming blue eyes were darting back and forth.
Just as that familiar sight was starting to reassure him, an unexpected remark slipped out.
“I think it’d be better to do it after I get a bit wet.”
“……”
Celesto tilted his head. He couldn’t understand what Roarna meant.
“I don’t understand what you mean.”
“I’m saying it’d be better to have foreplay before doing it! Rather than just suddenly rubbing against each other, it’s better to prepare mentally.”
“What does that have to do with kissing.”
“…Wait, have you never even kissed before?”
“Of course not.”
Celesto answered as if it were only natural.
In Celesto’s life—apart from being Sir Castenor, the holy knight—there had been very few people. Among them, the only women were four or five he knew just by face within his family, and Roarna Balseren.
So there was no way he could have ever experienced something like a kiss.
Realizing that, Roarna fell silent for a moment.
“Are all holy knights like you?”
Roarna said with a slightly fed-up expression.
“Is it normal for you all to go your entire lives without even kissing once, or even m**********g?”
“If they’ve joined the Temple Knight Order, then usually.”
“You’re all insane……”
