Chapter 267
“Then… may I speak now?”
“By all means.”
Claude opened his arms with a theatrical gesture, like a host welcoming his audience. Trying to lighten the mood, which made Sebelia smile softly.
“Mr. Claude, do you remember what I said earlier when we met Lady Rosalyn?”
“What you said… oh, you mean inviting her to the estate?”
“Yes. Actually, after what you said, I started thinking that maybe my ability could be useful for this.”
Claude tilted his head, still not quite following, but just then a soft exclamation came from Dehart’s side of the room.
“Of course.”
“Dehart?”
“Think about it, Claude. What’s Sebelia’s specialty? What can she find out with it? You already know.”
Dehart laced his fingers and spoke in a lazy tone, making Claude’s eyes go wide. He turned sharply toward Sebelia, silently asking if what he was thinking was right. Sebelia gave a small nod.
“To be honest, I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to pull up childhood memories. Even when I created that vision from Nathan’s memories, I didn’t select them myself.”
She hadn’t tried it since that day, so it was a gamble, really.
Maybe if I tried a few more times, I’d get the hang of it, but we don’t have that kind of time.
But it was the fastest, most definitive way to get answers, so it was the best she could do.
“Still, if Rosalyn refuses the invitation, doesn’t it all fall apart?”
“I’ll make her an offer she can’t refuse. They want the late Duke’s will.”
A few days earlier, Hares had quietly leaked to the press that he wanted to see the late Duke’s will. Implying the only reason it hadn’t been made public was because it supposedly named Rosalyn as the next Duke.
“The will can’t be taken out of the house, so inviting her to the estate is the only option. They’ll have no choice but to accept.”
“Oh, good plan! And how about this as a condition: only the late Duke’s family can view the will—so the Third Prince can’t accompany her.”
Claude flashed a sly grin, locking his fingers together. Forcing Hares to send Rosalyn alone would put him in a bind—the bait was simply too tempting to pass up.
Once they had the basics settled, Dehart got to his feet.
“I’ll send the invitation in my name. Come on, Bella.”
“Hm? You two have somewhere to go together?”
Claude asked, eyes wide. Sebelia answered breezily,
“We’re both going to see Mr. Watts for a checkup. Come on, let’s go.”
She held out her hand. After a moment of hesitation, Dehart carefully took her hand in his, his lips pressed together.
Watching them, Claude couldn’t help but find the sight both absurd and sweet. Who would ever guess these two had once been divorced? They looked just like a couple shyly holding hands for the first time.
For some reason, Claude found himself understanding Balak’s feelings at last. Still, unlike him, he fully supported this new beginning for the pair.
What else could he do? After all, he was Dehart’s uncle, and family always sticks together.

The results from Watts’s examination: Sebelia was diagnosed with mild exhaustion and a low-grade fever; Dehart, with overwork. They shot each other accusating glances and then got a lecture from Claude.
“You two get worn out this easily? No good. Clearly, it’s time for some special training.”
“Special training?”
“Yes, special training. Look forward to it.”
With that, Claude practically dragged Dehart away for a rest. Left alone, Sebelia spent the rest of the day in confusion.
The next morning, Sebelia stopped by the breakfast room and was left speechless by the sight: the long dining table was overflowing with food, way too much for a normal breakfast.
Watts appeared with a calm tone.
“It would be great if you could eat all of it, but that’s not realistic. Just eat as much as you can, and then take your supplements afterward.”
“You expect me to eat all this? And supplements too?”
“It’s a perfectly balanced nutritional plan. Nothing to worry about.”
Watts ignored all her protests.
“Mr. Watts, it’s not about nutrition—it’s about quantity.”
“Just have a seat. Dehart and Claude will be down soon.”
There was no arguing. Even Dehart, who at first stared at the table in horror, quickly changed his tune when Watts explained.
“For your health, it can’t be helped. If you build up your basic stamina, you won’t wear yourself out so easily. Come on, let’s eat.”
“Ha…”
In the end, Sebelia had no choice but to pick up her fork, while the three men exchanged looks of satisfaction and started on the meal.
With breakfasts like this, I’ll never go hungry again.
Sebelia sighed as she sliced into a thick steak. Then, she decided to look on the bright side.
After all, today was the day for Nathan Wheddon’s interrogation. Since she’d have to use her powers, maybe it was a good thing to have a hearty breakfast.
Ah…
Of course. Sebelia almost bit her lip at the realization. She’d only just understood the reason behind all this concern.
So this is why they suddenly started managing my diet…
Letting herself smile, Sebelia poked a shiny tomato with her fork.
If this was the kind of sweet, clumsy concern they wanted to show her, she decided to gladly accept it.
