Chapter 11
“Master. Are you awake?”
Heesu, who had been walking out to the living room while yawning, sniffed at the smell of freshly cooked rice and soybean paste stew. Following the scent with her gaze toward the kitchen, she could see a boy in an apron who had been chopping peppers on a cutting board, now looking at Heesu with a shy smile. Meeting his gaze, Heesu grinned foolishly and sat at the dining table, propping her chin on her hand to watch the boy cook.
Even though she had already seen this scene for three days in a row, it was good every time she saw it. A beautiful boy cooking and preparing meals for her—what a blissful sight this was.
“I don’t know Korean food very well, so I made it while looking at a cookbook……. I wonder if it tastes okay.”
As the boy said this while placing the soybean paste stew on the table and serving rice, Heesu looked at the meal set before her with a beaming smile. Originally, Heesu hadn’t eaten breakfast and had avoided Korean food even more, but she felt like she could eat the food at this table ten times over.
“It’ll be delicious. Violen has excellent domestic functions.”
Izzen, who had been sitting at the table reading a newspaper, said in an indifferent tone. Heesu felt uncomfortable at the way he described a person like a product and tilted her head, but she was too busy bringing her spoon to the food to pay any more attention.
As soon as the soybean paste stew carried by her spoon entered her mouth, Heesu let out an exclamation of admiration.
“It’s delicious!”
“I’m glad.”
The boy sat in front of Heesu and smiled brightly. Heesu’s mouth hung open as she ate with a happy expression.
This tentacle boy’s name was Violen. Despite having the striking contrast of black hair and red eyes, his somehow fragile yet cute puppy-like impression stimulated protective instincts. And true to that impression, he followed Heesu well like a puppy. He consistently called her Master and did whatever he was told. Since coming here, he had naturally taken charge of all the housework.
“It’s already been three days since you came here…… Is everything going well for you?”
“Yes!”
At Izzen’s question, Heesu, who had been busily moving her spoon, quickly nodded.
This place wasn’t Heesu’s one-room apartment but a splendid house in the suburbs.
This two-story house was quite large, with about eight rooms in total combining the first and second floors. According to Izzen’s explanation, this was the kind of scale needed for future magical girl activities and collecting demons.
The room assigned to Heesu was the largest in the house, cutely decorated and quite a pretty room. Though it bothered her that everything matched her transformation outfit like a set—pink with ribbons, pink with frills, pink with heart decorations everywhere. Heesu was very satisfied with that manga-like interior.
Since there was a large wall mirror in the room, Heesu would transform and admire herself to her heart’s content even when she had nothing particular to do.
Heesu reflected in the mirror was a beauty who looked very good with the unrealistic hairstyle of long pink twin-tails. Her large eyes were a brilliant deep purple color, and the eyelashes that came down densely over those eyes were so long they made rustling sounds every time she blinked. Her snow-white skin had no blemishes, her nose was straight, and her lips were full. No matter where you looked, there wasn’t a single part that wasn’t pretty.
Heesu, enchanted by her own beauty, would often look in the mirror. She was really so pretty that she never got tired of looking, no matter how much she looked. Her voluptuous, slender, and tall figure was even more so.
Excited, Heesu practiced all kinds of poses while looking in the mirror. The kind she should strike during transformation, combat, or landing.
That was a very important thing for magical girls. There was no magical girl anywhere who fought without striking poses. So she wanted to practice and practice more to fight a bit more stylishly in the next battle.
……More than anything, she never wanted to swing her magic wand like handling a piece of lumber again.
“Your expression looks a bit stiff……. Did you find a stone in your rice or something?”
“Ah, no. I was just thinking about something…….”
Heesu, who snapped out of her thoughts at Izzen’s words, shook her head vigorously. She seemed to have made a rather grim expression from being too resolute in her determination.
“Anyway, I’m really happy these days. The house is comfortable, and the food is delicious…….”
“That’s fortunate.”
“It feels like a lie that I was eating cup noodles alone in that narrow, shabby one-room apartment.”
“We can’t treat a magical girl like that. You’re someone who fights for the world.”
At those words, Heesu stared intently at Izzen. Perhaps not sensing Heesu’s gaze, Izzen remained absorbed in his newspaper, turning the pages one by one.
‘We respect magical girls’ human rights.’
Izzen’s words from before came to mind in Heesu’s head. Though it felt absurd to say they respected human rights while making her experience violations, the treatment itself was certainly good. Among all the magical girls she had seen, who had ever lived in such luxury?
……So, it would be perfect if I just didn’t get violated. Really, everything else is good except for that…….
‘Is this good luck or bad luck?’
